   In fact, Nghe An has a seaport, a fairly stable transport infrastructure, and a long border with Laos, but it is still unable to connect with Lao businesses' goods. Meanwhile, Lao goods are still going through Thai ports, despite having to bear high costs.

3. The problem is that Nghe An has a port, but lacks logistics operators and managers to help the government come up with bold ideas. To develop logistics, we need to organize essential steps such as: customs warehouses, roads, and logistics services.

   In March, the Association of Overseas Vietnamese Entrepreneurs will have meetings with the Nghe An Provincial Business Association to discuss ways to implement cooperation or community building to help local businesses create a foundation for the logistics industry.

   In addition, the Association will connect with potential overseas Vietnamese businesses in the logistics sector, in conjunction with the Vietnam Logistics Association, to organize major seminars in four central provinces, including Nghe An, focusing on promoting the development of Cua Lo port.

   We must determine to create connecting networks on the East-West economic corridor, reclaiming the “silk road” of Nghe An with Laos and Northeast Thailand. This road has been neglected for decades, now it should be reopened. From then on, Nghe An will be the center of logistics.

Nghe An is a typical model for long-term and medium-term cooperation between JICA and Vietnam in providing value chains. Currently, JICA has been coordinating with the province to develop many agricultural production projects according to value chains, and develop the community tourism sector. During the past cooperation period, we have seen that Nghe An has made great efforts in reviewing mechanisms and policies to improve the investment and business environment.

However, to attract investment, infrastructure is the deciding factor.

In fact, localities with poor infrastructure find it difficult to attract investors as well as foreign organizations. Therefore, to create a new breakthrough, Nghe An province should invest heavily in building, renovating and upgrading infrastructure. This is one of the important factors for investors to evaluate the investment environment, because infrastructure limitations are a threat to businesses in the production and export of goods.

In Nghe An, the good news is that the province has invested in building and upgrading Vinh International Airport. However, at the same time, the province should pay attention to building an international seaport to facilitate trade. In addition, there needs to be a strategy for efficient and economical use of energy.

Although this is the first time Son Ha Group has attended the Nghe An Province Investment Promotion Conference, it has been observed that the scale of the conference has expanded every year, attracting the attention of many large domestic and foreign corporations. This demonstrates the perseverance of Nghe An Province, and the desire to create a strong breakthrough in attracting investment.

In Nghe An province, Son Ha Group has been licensed to build a household appliance factory in Nam Cam Industrial Park since 2016. Through meetings with Nghe An provincial leaders, we have seen openness and positive attention. Administrative mechanisms and procedures are facilitated. This is the basis for Son Ha Group to continue choosing Nghe An as a land for investment. In the future, we are interested and wish to find partners in Nghe An in large projects, such as high-quality steel, solar energy systems, etc.

Investors and businesses coming to Nghe An all hope to receive practical attention from the province, especially the companionship with businesses to overcome even the smallest difficulties. This is the most important thing to help Nghe An province attract strong investment in the future.
