Nghe An strengthens solutions to promote industrial growth
In 2024, in the face of many fluctuations in the world economy, the steering group for industrial growth in Nghe An grasped the operating situation of industrial production establishments, removed difficulties, and contributed to the increased new production capacity of the industry.
Positive industrial change
Despite facing many difficulties, industrial production has changed positively, businesses have gradually recovered, promoted reproduction, expanded business scale, and contributed to the province's economic growth. In the first 9 months of 2024, construction stone exploitation reached 4,200 thousand m3, up 81.75% over the same period and reaching 72% of the 2024 plan.
Tourism activities have developed again. In addition, inflationary pressure and spending cuts have led to low prices, which are an opportunity for local beers to compete with imported beers and high-end beers, estimated at 185 million liters, up 105% over the same period and reaching 70.27% of the 2024 plan. TH Truemilk and Vinamilk factories have both maintained good consumption markets and promoted newly expanded production lines, so in the first 9 months of the year, they reached 260 million liters, up 55.04% over the same period, reaching 74.29% of the 2024 plan.

World sugar prices increased, sugar supply from India and Thailand decreased sharply, sugarcane productivity increased and the area of sugarcane raw material was kept stable, so the estimated output in 9 months reached 101,176 tons, an increase of 19.84%.
In the field of textile and footwear production and export, some factories such as Nakano, Koyu Textile, Matsouka Thanh Chuong, Gaiwat Vietnam have been operating stably. At enterprises such as Minh Anh Kim Lien, Hi-Tex, Sangwoo, Woin Vina..., orders have increased and stabilized, so in the first 9 months of the year, all kinds of clothing reached over 80 million products, an increase of 76.1%.

In particular, electronic components have seen remarkable growth. Production of electronic components and auto parts is estimated to double compared to the same period in 2023 due to stable production of electronic component production projects in the province, new projects coming into operation, starting to produce products for the market: Luxshare ICT Vietnam Co., Ltd. expanded its production line, Goertek Electronic Components and Precision Equipment Factory went into trial operation.
The investment trend is shifting strongly to the digital sector, multinational companies in the digital sector are developing rapidly and changing the nature of cross-border investment, which is an opportunity for Nghe An to continue attracting industrial projects in the fields of electronics and high-tech industry.
Assessing the complicated developments of the world political and economic situation; global economic growth, trade and investment continue to decline; demand in Vietnam's large and traditional import and export markets continues to decline... affecting investment, production and business activities of enterprises and people's lives. Therefore, the Government and ministries, branches, Provincial Party Committees, Provincial People's Committees and branches at all levels are interested in supporting enterprises with a high sense of responsibility right from the first days and months of 2024, promoting administrative reform, improving the business environment, focusing on removing difficulties and obstacles of enterprises and investors... creating favorable conditions for enterprises to produce and do business smoothly.

Ms. Tran Thi My Ha - Head of Industrial Management Department, Department of Industry and Trade said: In addition to the achieved results, there are still many difficulties, enterprises and investors need to be supported to remove problems related to land use planning; compensation and site clearance; difficulties in mechanisms, overlapping regulations; difficulties in investment procedures; some projects are behind schedule... The Department of Industry and Trade - the Standing agency of the Steering Committee for Industrial Growth of the province has organized meetings with enterprises and localities such as: Hoang Mai, Quynh Luu, Nghia Dan, Thai Hoa, Quy Hop, Que Phong, Dien Chau, Yen Thanh, Tan Ky, Do Luong, Nghi Loc and enterprises in VSIP Nghe An Industrial Park, WHA Zone 1 Industrial Park... to grasp the operation situation of industrial production facilities, industrial cluster management and difficulties and obstacles that need to be removed.
Strengthen support, remove difficulties
In 2024, Nghe An continues to aim to be in the top 10 localities attracting the highest FDI in the country. Currently, the province is urgently completing the site clearance work to deploy VSIP Nghe An II Industrial Park with an area of 500 hectares (in Tho Loc Industrial Park, Dien Chau) and Hoang Mai II Industrial Park with an area of over 334 hectares (in Hoang Mai town) to be ready to welcome investors.
Sharing solutions to promote production, Mr. Pham Van Hoa - Director of the Department of Industry and Trade, Deputy Head of the working group directing industrial growth, said: In order to promptly remove difficulties for businesses, speed up the progress of projects to come into operation soon, contributing to ensuring the target of industrial growth in the context of forecasted complicated developments in the world market, authorities at all levels need to focus on supporting legal procedures on investment, land, construction, environment, etc.
At the same time, accelerate investment progress, soon put projects expected to be completed and put into operation in 2024, contributing to the increased new production capacity of the industry. Direct sectors, units and localities to focus on developing raw material areas to ensure stable input for sugar processing factories, wood processing factories, tea processing factories, milk processing factories, canned fish processing factories, etc. Encourage investment in building warehouse systems, logistics service infrastructure and credit support to meet the needs of the processing industry.

Continue to synchronously implement solutions to support businesses in finding and expanding consumption markets: Provide guidance and disseminate free trade agreements to support businesses in accessing information on import and export of raw materials and product consumption markets; Organize activities to connect supply and demand, meet with trade counselors to exploit new markets; Apply e-commerce, promote and develop brands. Promote the development of domestic markets for goods and services, accelerate disbursement of public investment packages... to stimulate demand for the province's industrial products.
Support businesses to invest in purchasing equipment and innovating technology to improve production capacity through industrial promotion policies; policies to support small and medium enterprises; policies to support organizations and individuals to invest, innovate technology, and apply scientific and technological advances in the province. Promote the development of supporting industries to participate more deeply in the value chain. Increase support for startups, prioritize credit capital for loans to small and medium enterprises and industrial production facilities.
In addition to the above solutions, it is necessary to mobilize local commercial banks to immediately implement plans to reduce interest rates or provide interest-free loans for the amounts that businesses use to pay workers' salaries. Support electronics, textile, and footwear businesses in recruiting workers for projects that are about to be completed and put into operation. Urgently complete social housing and some welfare infrastructure works to serve the living needs of workers working in industrial parks."
