Nghe An: Creating a comprehensive and strong transformation in the work of the Association and the farmers' movement

On the afternoon of January 10, under the chairmanship of comrade Nguyen Quang Tung - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Farmers' Association, the Provincial Farmers' Association held a conference to summarize 2021 and deploy tasks for 2022.

INNOVATION, CREATIVITY

In 2021, facing the difficulties of the epidemic and the complicated developments of the pandemicCovid-19, but with the efforts, creativity, and overcoming difficulties of cadres, members, and farmers, the emulation movement ofNghe An Provincial Farmers' Associationis still maintained and developed with many methods and activities that bring practical effects to promote the Association's work and the development of the farmers' movement.

During the year, the province admitted 10,635 new members, bringing the total number of farmers in the province to nearly 500,000; 292 new professional farmers' associations and 17 professional farmers' branches were established.

Farmers' Associations at all levels focus on improving the quality and effectiveness of the movement of farmers competing in good production and business, uniting to help each other get rich and sustainably reduce poverty. Many examples of good production and business, effective economic and social models have appeared. The whole province has 262,391 farmer households registered to become good production and business households at all levels.

Responding to the call of the Central Association and the province, officials, members and farmers in the province actively participated in supporting the Covid-19 Prevention Fund, supporting the people of Ho Chi Minh City and the southern provinces in epidemic prevention and control; connecting the consumption of agricultural products.

Farmer support activities continue to receive practical and effective attention. The total amount of the provincial farmer support fund as of November 15, 2021 is 78,061 billion VND, currently invested in loans for 2,068 farmer member households.

Farmers' Associations at all levels effectively organize and implement propaganda, mobilization, and calling on farmer members to participate in new rural construction through practical activities.

The whole province directed and guided the construction of 339 "New rural standard gardens" and 701 "Farmer model gardens" following the new rural standard garden direction; built and developed the "Cow Bank" model with 388 cows; built 555 rural environmental protection models.

Mobilizing farmers to contribute money to build public works such as cultural houses, schools, stadiums, roads... worth nearly 51 billion VND; donating 188,975m²land, 88,815 working days; dredging hundreds of kilometers of intra-field canals, repairing hundreds of kilometers of village and hamlet roads.

Affirming the role of the organization

At the conference, delegates discussed and shared experiences and good practices in the work of building the Association; building and developing effective economic models and mobilizing, guiding and supporting farmers to participate in developing collective economic forms; promoting the organization of consulting, support and vocational training activities for farmers to develop production and business; effectively implementing coordination and connection programs for agricultural product consumption; promoting the role of farmers' associations at the grassroots level...

Implementing the tasks of 2022, the Provincial Farmers' Association directed all levels of the Association to focus on propaganda work; take care to build and strengthen the association organization; promote the movement of good farmers in production and business, actively organize production households to visit and learn economic models; strengthen the establishment and maintain effective operations of branches, professional associations, cooperatives, and residential cluster associations.

Mobilize farmers to develop agriculture, build new rural areas, civilized urban areas, sustainably reduce poverty and protect the environment; organize well consulting, support, service and vocational training activities for farmers to develop production and business; expand and improve the quality of consulting activities and support services for farmers.

At the same time, focus on activities to improve the level, scientific and technical knowledge, production and business linkage for farmers; promote innovation, creativity, discipline, order, create strong and comprehensive changes in all aspects of the Association's work and the farmers' movement.

On this occasion, the Provincial Farmers' Association awarded Certificates of Merit to 54 collectives and 52 individuals with outstanding achievements in association activities and farmers' movements.

In 2021, the Provincial Farmers' Association was classified by the Provincial Emulation and Reward Council as having excellently completed its tasks and the Provincial People's Committee proposed to award the Government's Emulation Flag.
