(Baonghean.vn) - The People's Committee of Nghe An province, departments, branches, sectors, People's Committees of districts, cities and towns in the province strengthen the work of preventing and combating crimes and violations of the law related to e-cigarettes, especially e-cigarettes containing drugs.
Recently, the People's Committee of Nghe An province issued Document No. 5129/UBND-NC "On prevention and suppression of buying, selling, transporting, storing and using electronic cigarettes" to provincial departments, branches, sectors, unions and People's Committees of districts, cities and towns in the province.
The document states: Recently, the status of userselectronic cigaretteE-cigarettes are increasingly popular, even becoming a trend among some young people, seriously affecting the health of users. E-cigarettes are smuggled into Vietnam through the border, without origin or source. E-cigarettes are bought, sold, and transported using many sophisticated methods and tricks, mainly through social networks.

Recently, Nghe An Provincial Police directed local police (Vinh city, Dien Chau district) to eliminate 60 leads, arrest 68 subjects for buying, selling, storing, and transporting electronic cigarettes, seizing 37,000 electronic cigarettes, essential oils, and accessories...
The seized exhibits have many different names (vape, pod...) and are designed in a variety of eye-catching ways, similar to objects commonly used for camouflage (such as lipstick, ballpoint pen, USB...), have many different smells and flavors, and contain narcotics (the results of the examination of 5/5 types of electronic cigarette samples all contained narcotics), addictive stimulants, causing many consequences and negative effects on users.
To strengthen the prevention and fight against crimes and violations of laws related to electronic cigarettes, especiallyelectronic cigarettecontaining narcotics, the People's Committee of Nghe An province requests departments, branches, sectors, People's Committees of districts, cities and towns to strengthen information and propaganda work, warning about the harmful effects of using electronic cigarettes, especially electronic cigarettes containing stimulants and narcotics so that cadres, civil servants, public employees, workers at agencies, units and people in the area know, actively prevent and stop violations; strengthen coordination with functional agencies, combat violations related to electronic cigarettes in the province.

The Department of Information and Communications, the Provincial Radio and Television Station, and Nghe An Newspaper shall strengthen propaganda and warnings about the harmful effects of using e-cigarettes, especially e-cigarettes containing narcotics that seriously affect the health of users; coordinate with competent authorities in propagating the results of the fight against and handling of subjects buying, selling, storing, and transporting e-cigarettes.
The Department of Education and Training and the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs direct educational and training institutions and vocational training institutions in the province to issue regulations to prevent the use of these products in schools. Strengthen inspection activities and strictly handle cases of buying, selling and using electronic cigarettes in schools; closely coordinate with functional forces in detecting, preventing and strictly handling students who violate laws related to electronic cigarettes.
The Provincial Police, the Provincial Customs Department, the Department of Industry and Trade, and the Provincial Market Management Department, according to their functions and tasks, direct agencies and units to continue to strengthen inspection, control, detection, combat, and strictly handle according to the law on smuggling, buying, selling, transporting, and illegally storing electronic cigarettes in the province.
