Nghe An: Highlights of November 2nd

* Resolution No. 1243/NQ-UBTVQH15 on the matterReorganization of district and commune-level administrative units in Nghe An province.The 2023-2025 plan, recently signed and promulgated by National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, will take effect from December 1, 2024.
Earlier, in the afternoon session on October 24th, with 100% of the votes in favor, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly unanimously approved the Resolutions on the rearrangement of district and commune-level administrative units for the period 2023-2025 in 21 provinces and cities, including Nghe An province.
Following the reorganization, Nghe An province reduced its number of administrative units by 1 district and 48 at the commune level.
* From December 1st, 2024, Cua Lo town will officially cease to be a district-level administrative unit of Nghe An province, butwill merge and become part of Vinh City..
Resolution No. 1243/NQ-UBTVQH15 of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly resolves:
The total natural area is 29.09 km².2Cua Lo town has a population of 77,813 people and a total natural area of 6.17 km².2Nghi Xuan commune has a population of 11,884 people and a total natural area of 6.12 km2. Phuc Tho commune has a population of 10,409 people and a total natural area of 9.50 km2.2The Nghi Thai commune has a population of 11,006 people and a total natural area of 10.35 km².2The Nghi Phong commune, with a population of 11,831 people, was transferred to Vinh City.
Currently, the Department of Transportation has accelerated the completion of the remaining items on the route.Vinh - Cua Lo BoulevardThe project, expected to be completed in November 2024, will then adjust the permitted speed limits for vehicles traveling on the route.
The Vinh - Cua Lo Boulevard is the largest and most modern road in Nghe An province, officially opened to traffic at the end of August 2024. After two months of use, many residents have commented that the maximum speed limit of 50 km/h is quite low for such a large road, and traffic congestion still occurs on weekends.

On October 15, 2024, the Standing Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghe An province, Le Hong Vinh, issued Decision No. 163/QD-XPHC, imposing administrative penalties on Thien Hoang Equipment Joint Stock Company (headquartered in Cua Lo town).
