Nghe An province welcomes Lao students to study at high school.
On the morning of November 6th, at the No. 2 Ethnic Boarding High School, the Department of Education and Training held a ceremony to welcome students from provinces of the Lao People's Democratic Republic for Vietnamese language training for the 2024-2025 academic year.
The 2024-2025 academic year marks the second year that Ethnic Boarding High School No. 2 has accepted 30 Lao students for its high school education. These students, selected from six provinces – Xieng Khouang, Hua Phan, Bolikhamsai, Vientiane, Savannakhet, and Khammourn – have excellent academic records and good conduct.

The organization of teaching and learning is carried out according to Decision No. 2880/QD-UBND dated October 30, 2024, of the People's Committee of Nghe An province on accepting Vietnamese language training forLao studentsbefore enrolling in the high school program in Nghe An.
Therefore, in order to implement the policies and guidelines of the Party, the State, and the leadership of Nghe An province on strengthening friendly relations, solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation with the Lao People's Democratic Republic, including in the field of education and training.

Currently, Nghe An is the first province in the country to accept Lao students to study in the high school program under a cooperation agreement. Previously, in the 2023-2024 academic year, the school accepted 31 Lao students. After one year of studying Vietnamese, they are now in grade 10 following the Vietnamese high school curriculum.
Speaking at the handover ceremony, Mr. Ho Quoc Viet, Principal of Ethnic Boarding High School No. 2, expressed his honor at being entrusted by the province with the task of educating and training Lao students at the high school level.

With a tradition of striving for excellence in teaching and learning, the spirit of overcoming difficulties among the staff, teachers, and students throughout the school, the attention of the local authorities and various levels of government, and the cooperation of the provinces of neighboring Laos whose students study at the school, the teachers and students of Nghe An No. 2 Ethnic Boarding High School pledge to strive for excellence in teaching and learning, to nurture students well, and to successfully complete the tasks of the 2024-2025 school year.
At the ceremony, the school principal also addressed the Lao students studying at the school, sharing his understanding of the difficulties and hardships they face having to leave home and their homeland to study in Vietnam.

However, despite these difficulties, the school hopes that students will strive, work hard, and diligently study and train themselves so that they can establish themselves and their careers in the future, becoming useful citizens for the country.

According to the plan, after completing a one-year preparatory Vietnamese language course, students will continue to study the Vietnamese high school curriculum and an enhanced program based on international standards for three years.
This course will equip students with the necessary skills to continue their studies at a higher level in the context of international integration.
