(Baonghean.vn) - According to the resolution of the Provincial People's Council at the 10th session approving the Resolution on establishing, merging, and renaming hamlets, blocks, and villages in communes, wards, and towns of 7 district-level units, Nghe An continues to reduce 383 hamlets, blocks, and villages after the merger.

At the 10th session, term 2016 - 2021, the Provincial People's Council reviewed, discussed and passed the Resolution on establishing, merging and renaming hamlets, blocks and villages in communes, wards and towns in 7 districts, cities and towns: Anh Son, Nghi Loc, Quynh Luu, Que Phong, Dien Chau, Vinh city and Hoang Mai town.

Accordingly, the Provincial People's Council decided to establish two new blocks in Vinh Tan ward, Vinh city, including Phuc Thinh block with 335 households and Cua Tien block with 430 households.

The Provincial People's Council also decided to merge and rename hamlets, blocks, and villages (collectively called hamlets) in communes, wards, and towns in 7 districts, cities, and towns: Anh Son, Dien Chau, Nghi Loc, Que Phong, Quynh Luu, Hoang Mai town, and Vinh city. Of which, 4 units will merge all hamlets in the district and 3 units will merge additional communes that have not been previously implemented.

Reduce 372 hamlets in 4 total hamlet merger units

1. Vinh CityMerge 92 hamlets into 46 hamlets and after the merger, reduce 46 hamlets, from 371 to 325 hamlets.

2. Anh Son DistrictMerge 186 hamlets into 89 hamlets and after the merger reduce 97 hamlets, from 252 to 155 hamlets.

3. Nghi Loc DistrictMerge 338 hamlets into 142 hamlets and after the merger reduce 196 hamlets, from 446 to 250 hamlets.

4. Hoang Mai TownMerge 59 hamlets into 26 hamlets and after the merger reduce 33 hamlets, from 132 to 99 hamlets.

Reduce 11 hamlets in 3 additional merged units

1. Quynh Luu District11 more hamlets were merged into 5 hamlets, reducing 6 hamlets and after 2 mergers, Quynh Luu district had a total of 388 hamlets.

2. Que Phong DistrictMerge 2 more hamlets into 1 hamlet, reduce 1 hamlet and after 2 mergers, the district has a total of 107 hamlets.

3. Dien Chau DistrictMerge 7 more hamlets into 3 hamlets, reduce 4 hamlets and after 2 mergers, the district has a total of 292 hamlets.

The resolution also decided to rename 46 hamlets in communes, wards and towns in 5 units: Vinh City, Hoang Mai Town and districts: Anh Son, Nghi Loc, Dien Chau.
