Nghe An Provincial People's Committee has just issued a decision assigning agencies and units to help poor communes in the western region of Nghe An province.
Accordingly, 115 agencies and units in the province were assigned to receive support and help 108 poor communes in 11 districts of the province. Ky Son is the locality that received the most support with 20 communes, Tuong Duong and Quy Hop 14 communes, Que Phong 13 communes, Quy Chau 11 communes.
Quynh Luu is the least locality with Tan Thang commune assigned to the Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Industry and Trade, Bac Nghe An branch for assistance.
Nghe An Provincial People's Committee requests: Agencies and units assigned to mobilize cadres, workers and employees to support, draw from the legal sources of the unit, mobilize affiliated units, mobilize other funding sources to help poor communes build houses for the poor, infrastructure, guide the application of science and technology, replicate economic models to develop production, support improvement, enhance the material and spiritual life of the people.
To achieve the goal of sustainable poverty reduction, the Provincial People's Committee issued Decision No. 1310 dated April 20, 2012; followed by Decision No. 6062 dated December 22, 2015 replacing it on assigning agencies and units to help poor communes in the province.
This creative policy has effectively mobilized resources, creating a vibrant emulation movement among cadres, party members, and workers of agencies and units with many meaningful and practical actions towards poor communes in the Western region of the province, contributing to helping poor communes sustainably reduce poverty.
By the end of 2016, the whole province still had 9.55% poor households and 10.4% near-poor households, in which the high rate of poor households was mainly concentrated in the western districts of the province.
