Nghe An seeks suitable online teaching solutions for the new school year
(Baonghean.vn) - Online teaching is an option that the Nghe An Education Department has considered for the upcoming school year at a time when the epidemic in Nghe An is complicated and many localities are having to implement social distancing according to Directive 16.
Schools “start” online teaching
On August 19, when the new school year was still more than 2 weeks away, Nam Dan 1 High School announced the online teaching plan to more than 1,000 students of 36 classes in the whole school. At the same time, the school also provided accounts and passwords to homeroom teachers and a trusted member of the class to act as the classroom manager. Immediately after receiving the password, the classes began to get acquainted and "start" teaching via Zoom so that when entering the new school year, students would no longer be confused, especially for the first graders of grade 10.

Direct teaching is unavoidable at present, in the context of the complicated developments of the Covid-19 epidemic in Nam Dan district and many other localities, and large gatherings will lead to many risks of disease transmission.
On the school side, Ms. Trinh Thi Dieu Thuy - Principal of the school also said: Since the previous school year, we have also taught online at some times, but mainly at the end of the school year. This year, online teaching will have to be organized earlier, so there will be difficulties.
According to the plan, from August 23, professional groups will start training and the school will also organize an online conference to discuss professional work at the beginning of the year. During the implementation process, we also require teachers to actively apply IT to the teaching process, proficiently use useful teaching applications and software, and know how to exploit online resources. It is expected that online teaching will be applied to all students and all subjects will be taught, and the timetable will be adjusted to suit the online teaching format. For example, in one session, 2 consecutive periods will be taught for each subject with 2 periods/week or more. Subjects with only 1 period/week will be taught once every 2 weeks for both periods.

In recent days, although Quynh Lam B Primary School (Quynh Luu District) is still being used as a centralized quarantine area, the school has still implemented training and professional activities online. In addition to organizing teachers to experimentally teach the new Grade 2 textbooks, the school has also developed an online teaching plan in case it cannot start the new school year in time as in previous years. Through discussions with teachers, Tran Nam Thanh - Principal of the school also shared: Organizing online teaching for primary school students will still have many difficulties and the effectiveness will certainly not be as good as direct teaching. However, the school still encourages teachers and students to overcome difficulties to ensure the correct implementation of the program and maintain study habits for students.
Online teaching will be deployed widely.
In just a short time, schools across the province will officially return to school, entering the new school year 2021 - 2022. However, up to this point, how to implement the teaching plan is still a matter to consider and online teaching is the preferred option in the context of the entire Nghe An province having to implement social distancing. Meanwhile, if schools gather a large number of people, it will lead to the risk of spreading the disease.
Previously, at the school year summary meeting, the Director of Nghe An Department of Education and Training also mentioned the online teaching plan for the next school year if the province still has to implement Directive 16. On the side of the professional departments, they are also building an online teaching plan for the school year.

Talking about this, Mr. Nguyen Tien Dung - Head of Secondary Education Department - Department of Education and Training said:online teachingThe beginning of the school year will be more difficult than the end of the year because students have to learn many new lessons. Therefore, from now until the end of the school year, we have asked the core professional groups to review the program to have specific instructions for each subject and consider what content to teach appropriately. There may be online lessons, but there may also be lessons that must be taught after students return to school so as not to affect the program and students' learning.
This morning (August 24), the Department of Primary Education - Department of Education and Training also held an online conference to deploy the new school year and provide training on using classrooms and online teaching. At the grassroots connection points, many schools also organized for teachers to grasp the plan and discuss implementation plans.
Through the discussion, Ms. Vo Tuyet Chinh - Head of the District Education and Training DepartmentXiangyangShare: With a special area like ours, teaching online for all students is extremely difficult, because many students do not have enough teaching equipment. However, I believe that, in any circumstance, we will make every effort so that students are not disadvantaged... Previously, in the previous school year, in the context of the epidemic outbreak, students could not go to school, teachers in Tuong Duong district went to each house to deliver and correct homework for students or had flexible innovations to suit local conditions.

At present, Mr. Nguyen Hong Hoa - Head of Primary Education Department - Department of Education and Training also shared: Online teaching for primary schools, especially grades 1 and 2, is very difficult. Currently, we are asking schools to review the online learning conditions of parents to have appropriate solutions. The industry will continue to research online platform applications so that schools can choose the appropriate form. In addition, teachers must continue to be trained in applications for flexible use and be able to guide parents. The Department will also develop a curriculum to suit the online teaching program.
In the current complicated and widespread Covid-19 epidemic in Nghe An, Mr. Thai Van Thanh - Director of the Department of Education and Training also said that the most difficult thing is for students in grades 1-2, who are still young and do not have the awareness and ability to self-study, while implementing the new textbook program.
Therefore, the industry has planned to order the Vinh City Department of Education and Training to make online video lessons and provide support and advice for children to send to districts and towns to implement depending on actual conditions.
