Nghe An summarizes 10 years of implementing agricultural mechanization policy
(Baonghean) - On November 23, in Cua Lo town, Nghe An Provincial People's Committee coordinated with Vietnam Engine and Agricultural Machinery Corporation (VEAM) to organize a conference "Summary of 10 years of implementing agricultural mechanization support policy in the period 2000-2011".
Attending the event were Mr. Dinh Viet Hong - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Leaders of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Ministry of Industry and Trade and leaders of departments, branches and sectors in the province.

In the past, thanks to the subsidy policy of 20-40% for farmers when buying agricultural machines, up to now, the number of agricultural machines (including multi-function plows, harvesters, tea pickers) has been supplied to farmers in the province nearly 5,000 machines, with the total investment support fund according to the province's policy up to 15,737 million VND. Thanks to that, the level of mechanization of land preparation for agricultural land in Nghe An province reached over 50%, land for annual crops reached 70%. The agricultural mechanization policy contributed to shifting the rural labor structure, innovating the production force, using labor effectively, and exploiting land potential in some areas in the province.
Speaking at the conference, the leaders of the Provincial People's Committee, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Ministry of Industry and Trade and VEAM praised the achievements in the field of agricultural mechanization of Nghe An province, and at the same time will create favorable conditions in terms of mechanisms and policies to support Nghe An farmers to access investment capital for the field of agricultural mechanization. VEAM pledged to continue to accompany farmers in the province to further develop the cause of industrialization and modernization of agriculture and rural areas. At the conference, the outstanding sectors, localities and individuals in the field of agricultural mechanization were awarded Certificates of Merit by the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee for their outstanding achievements in the past time.
