Nghe An summarizes 10 years of implementing the Fire Prevention and Fighting Law

(Baonghean) -This morning, September 29, Nghe An Provincial People's Committee held a conference to summarize 10 years of implementing the Law on Fire Prevention and Fighting (PCCC) in the period 2001-2011. Comrade Huynh Thanh Dien - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee attended and chaired the conference.

Since the Law on Fire Prevention and Fighting was issued, Nghe An province has conducted extensive propaganda to all classes of people, departments and organizations to socialize fire prevention and fighting work. Especially in industrial parks, markets and commercial centers where there is a high risk of fire and explosion. Every year, the Provincial People's Committee directs departments to coordinate well in organizing the National Week on Labor Safety and Hygiene for Fire Prevention and Fighting, the National Fire Prevention and Fighting Day (October 4) with many propaganda activities to raise awareness and bring practical results. In 10 years, 768 fire prevention and fighting training courses have been organized for over 44,300 participants. Most localities and units have developed plans to set out internal rules and regulations on fire safety.

Comrade Huynh Thanh Dien - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee presented the 50-year tradition banner to the Nghe An Fire Police force.

However, in 10 years, there have been 179 fires and hundreds of blazes in the province, killing 12 people, injuring 78 people, and causing property damage estimated at over 45 billion VND. Of which, 120 were in cities and towns, and 59 were in districts. The main causes of the fires were negligence in the use of fire and technical equipment failures, electrical systems, and violations of fire safety regulations. The province has established inspection teams to urge the implementation of the Fire Prevention and Fighting Law, and strictly punish establishments that violate fire safety regulations.

In order for fire prevention and fighting work to increasingly meet the requirements of socio-economic development in the new situation, in the coming time, it is necessary to continue to promote propaganda, dissemination and education of legal knowledge on fire prevention and fighting. Pay attention to directing the implementation of fire prevention and fighting work according to the 4-on-the-spot motto. Strengthen inspection and guidance on fire prevention and fighting at local units to promptly detect and strictly handle violations.

At the conference, comrade Huynh Thanh Dien - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee presented a banner with the words"Fire and Rescue Police Force of Nghe An Province: 50 years of building, fighting and growing"of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, and Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province presented to the Fire Prevention and Fighting Police Force. On this occasion, the Provincial People's Committee also presented certificates of merit to 15 groups and 16 individuals, and the Provincial Police Director presented certificates of merit to 25 groups and 35 individuals who had many achievements in fire prevention and fighting work.
