Fishing vessels are inspected in accordance with regulations, and only when an accident occurs at sea will the authorities resolve the insurance policy according to regulations. Therefore, most of the vessels here proactively cooperate with the authorities to carry out timely inspection.

According to the Department of Fisheries, the province currently has 3,936 fishing boats and ships at sea. Of which, the type of ships < 20 CV and not equipped with engines: 1,579 units; the type of ships 20 ≤ 90 CV: 993 units; the type ≥ 90 CV: 1,364 units; the type of ships 20 ≤ 90 CV has 993 units; the type ≥ 90 CV has 1,364 units, with a total capacity of 588,588 units.

In the first 7 months of the year, the authorities have inspected 2,004/2,350 vehicles, reaching 85.28%. Compared to the plan, it reached 89.77%. Compared to the same period in 2016, it reached 108.9%.

Currently, the inspection of fishing vessels is carried out promptly and flexibly, and the authorities actively follow the area and focus on the days when fishermen rest during the full moon to achieve high efficiency. Carrying out inspection of fishing vessels creates favorable conditions for fishermen's boats to participate in fishing safely at sea.

Nghe An has 18,610 workers fishing and exploiting seafood at sea, of which 14,238 are offshore workers.
