Nghe An in the revolutionary process towards the August 1945 uprising
(Baonghean) - Throughout the history of the nation, Nghe An has always been the place to initiate or creatively absorb movements against foreign invaders and to build the country. During the period of the Party establishment movement (1925-1930), Nghe-Tinh was the place that made an important contribution to creating the necessary and sufficient factors to move towards the Unification Conference, establishing the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 1930). After that great historical turning point, the Communist Party of Vietnam Party Committee of Nghe An province was quickly established (March 20, 1930).
In the first years after the Party's founding, the revolutionary movement of 1930-1931, culminating in the Nghe-Tinh Soviet, was a political event that shook the entire colonial system of capitalism.
Despite being brutally and bloodyly suppressed, the mass movement here remained strong and the revolutionary bases were still protected, making important contributions to the Party's restoration (1932-1934). During the Democratic Front movement (1936-1939), Nghe An had creative forms of struggle by all classes of people, typically the strike at Truong Thi Factory (1937).
The more we learn about the Nghe-Tinh Soviets and the history of the Vietnamese Revolution in the period of 1930-1931, the more deeply we are imbued with the following statement by President Ho Chi Minh (on the occasion of the 34th anniversary of the Party's founding, February 3, 1964): "Although the French imperialists and feudalists drowned the revolutionary movement in a sea of blood, the glorious tradition of the Nghe-Tinh Soviets pushed the revolutionary movement throughout the country forward and led to the brilliant success of the August Revolution...".
During the peak of the Resistance War against Japan and France to save the country (1940-1945), especially in the period of 1944-1945, Nghe An was a key point on the Greater East Asia route of the Japanese fascists, and also the land gateway to the capital Hue. While the National Conference of the Party (from August 13, 1945) was in session, we received news that the Japanese Emperor had surrendered to the Allies. The Party Central Committee, the Viet Minh General Department and President Ho Chi Minh ordered that the National Uprising Committee must be immediately established to lead the uprising to seize power throughout the country. The Nghe An Communist Party Committee, under the name of the secret inter-provincial Viet Minh organization of Nghe - Tinh, took the lead in leading that work. The process of seizing power throughout the province took place as follows:
August 18, 1945, seized power in Quynh Luu district.
August 21, 1945, seized power in Vinh City and the districts of Hung Nguyen and Dien Chau. History takes August 21, 1945 as the day of seizing power in the entire province in Nghe An. Next is the time of seizing power in the remaining districts:
August 22: Nghia Dan district;
August 23: Nam Dan, Thanh Chuong, Anh Son;
August 25: Nghi Loc, Yen Thanh;
August 26: Vinh Hoa, Tuong Duong, Quy Chau.
Continuing the tradition of the August Revolution, with historical lessons that have been accumulated over hundreds of years, especially since the Party was born and led by beloved President Ho Chi Minh, Nghe An has overcome many hardships and challenges, contributing effectively to the glorious victories of the entire nation. Today, in the trend of integration, innovation and development, Nghe An must see its strengths as well as its limitations to make the province rich and strong. Because during his lifetime, Uncle Ho always wished: "Nghe An must become one of the exemplary provinces, worthy of being the homeland of the heroic Nghe-Tinh Soviets".
