Nghe An gives priority to admission to grade 10 for students with international English certificates.

This afternoon (July 17), the Provincial People's Committee issued Decision No. 2362/QD-UBND approving the supplement to the education development plan for the 2020-2021 school year.

Accordingly, in the next school year, the Provincial People's Committee will add an additional enrollment quota for 1 specialized English class with a maximum of 35 students for Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted.

In addition, an additional 10th grade class will be added at Huynh Thuc Khang High School, with the number of students following the regulations in Circular No. 12/2011/TT - BGDĐT of the Ministry of Education and Training promulgating the regulations for junior high schools, high schools and multi-level schools.

Regarding this decision, Mr. Thai Van Thanh - Director of the Department of Education and Training said: To add 1 more English specialized class, Phan Boi Chau High School will be directly admitted to candidates with an international English certificate IELTS 5.5 or higher. Huynh Thuc Khang High School will give priority admission to candidates with an international certificate IELTS 4.5 or higher. International certificates of equivalent value will be converted according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.

However, candidates must be admitted to a public high school in the province and if the number of candidates exceeds the assigned quota, schools will proceed with admission from top to bottom.
