The accident occurred on the afternoon of June 5 on National Highway 48A, passing through Hamlet 9 Bac Lam, Dien Lam Commune, Dien Chau District. According to witnesses, at the time, bus number 25 with license plate 37B - 015.35 of Thach Thanh Company was driven by driver Nguyen Van Dung. The vehicle was traveling in the direction of Dien Chau - Nghia Dan, when reaching the above section of the road, it suddenly lost control, crashed into a tree and an electric pole on the side of the road.

The bus’s strong impact broke an electric pole, crushed the front of the bus, and left it stuck in front of a tree and a fence of a house. Driver Nguyen Van Dung and several passengers were taken out of the bus by people at the scene and taken to Phu Dien hospital in a serious state of injury. It is known that there were very few passengers on the bus at the time.

On the morning of June 6, bus company staff said that driver Dung and the passengers involved in the accident were out of danger.
