Nghe An handles 107 organizations and individuals for violating transportation business activities
(Baonghean.vn) - That is the information reported by the Department of Transport at the Conference to summarize the transport work in 2018 and deploy tasks in 2019 on the afternoon of January 9.
In 2018, the Department of Transport continued to strengthen State management, promote administrative reform in the field of transport management to promptly answer and resolve difficulties and problems for people and businesses. The whole province has 305 units granted Business Licenses for automobile transport; the total number of vehicles granted badges for transport business is 14,770 vehicles.
Currently operating 177 fixed passenger transport routes (including 38 intra-provincial routes, 132 inter-provincial routes, 7 Vietnam - Laos inter-provincial routes); maintaining good operation of 16 bus routes, fully meeting the travel needs of the people.

In 2018, the Department of Transport announced and put into operation 2 new bus stations and terminated the operation of 1 bus station, bringing the total number of bus stations in Nghe An province to 16.
The volume of goods transported through the port reached over 3.6 million tons, with revenue of 175,445 billion VND. In 2016, the volume of passengers transported by air was estimated at 1.86 million passengers.
In particular, the Department has increased inspection teams for transport business activities, creating fairness for transport businesses.
Through inspection, 107 organizations and individuals were handled for violations; decisions were made to impose fines of nearly VND 968 million; 47 cases were temporarily revoked of certificates; 611 cases of vehicles violating speed regulations were handled; related administrative procedures were refused for 50 violating units with a large number of vehicles not transmitting data from the journey monitoring device.

The Department has advised the Provincial People's Committee to issue an official dispatch on implementing measures to minimize and eventually eliminate passenger cars from 5 seats to less than 12 seats participating in illegal passenger transport in the province, and at the same time coordinate with the Provincial Police to organize inspections and strictly handle the above violations according to regulations.
Say no to drug driving
According to Deputy Director of the Department of Transport Nguyen Duc An, recently there have been many accidents involving drivers using alcohol, beer and drugs, leading to many tragic traffic accidents.
Every year, Nghe An Department of Transport organizes periodic health check-ups for drivers, and at the same time requests businesses and passenger transport units to resolutely eliminate drug-using drivers and drivers without culture or ethics when serving passengers, affecting the reputation and brand of businesses and the province.
