Nghe An province fines 52 million VND to 4 establishments for food safety violations.
The joint inspection team inspected 25 establishments; administrative violation reports were issued against 4 establishments.
On April 10, 2025, the People's Committee of Nghe An province issued Decision No. 980/QD-UBND on the establishment of an inter-agency inspection team to check compliance with legal regulations on ensuring safety.foodduring the Month of Action forfood safetyin 2025 in Nghe An province.

From April 14th to May 15th, 2025, the inter-agency inspection team conducted food safety inspections at three Food Safety Steering Committees in Thai Hoa town, Hung Nguyen district, and Quy Hop district. The team inspected 25 establishments involved in food production, processing, and trading, as well as food service businesses in the province. Of the 25 inspected establishments, 11 were food production and trading businesses; and 14 were food service businesses (3 collective kitchens; 1 industrial meal provider; and 10 restaurants and hotel restaurants).).
During the inspection, the inter-agency inspection team noted positive aspects in the operation of the steering committees and food production, processing, and trading establishments, as well as food service businesses. At the same time, the inter-agency inspection team also pointed out shortcomings and limitations that need to be addressed.
Accordingly, the issuance of Food Safety Certificates and the signing of food safety commitment agreements remain limited. The number of establishments granted Food Safety Certificates and those signing food safety commitment agreements is still low. The effectiveness of inter-agency inspection teams at the district level is low, and the number of establishments inspected remains limited. Inspection and supervision of state management of food safety in communes and towns under their jurisdiction have not been carried out. The statistics on food production, processing, and trading establishments, as well as food service businesses, are incomplete.
Some establishments have not fully complied with regulations on food safety conditions, such as: storage areas lacking shelves for products; not having separate changing areas for protective clothing as required by law; inadequate temperature monitoring for products requiring special storage conditions; employing personnel who handle food directly without adequate personal protective equipment as required; food storage areas lacking sufficient shelving as required; drainage ditches in the kitchen area not being properly covered; and selling food of unknown origin.
The inter-agency inspection team issued administrative violation reports against 4 establishments and forwarded the files to the relevant authorities requesting the issuance of administrative penalty decisions in accordance with their jurisdiction, totaling 52 million VND.
The establishments that were fined for violations include: Kyodo Foods Production Workshop (located in Nam Dan town, Nam Dan district; fined 12 million VND); World Milk Investment Joint Stock Company's branch in Nghe An (located in Hung Loc ward, Vinh city; fined 12 million VND); Tu Phuong Food Joint Stock Company - Business location No. 12 (located in Hong Son ward, Vinh city; fined 16 million VND); Nam Thang Industrial Catering Service Joint Stock Company (located in Hung Dao commune, Hung Nguyen district; fined 12 million VND).
