Nghe An fined more than 10,700 cases of using alcohol and beer while participating in traffic
In the first 6 months of 2024, Nghe An Provincial Police fined 35,624 cases of traffic safety violations, transferring 69.5 billion VND to the budget, including 10,701 cases of drinking alcohol while participating in traffic.
In the first 6 months of 2024, there were 174 traffic accidents in the province, killing 101 people, injuring 111 people; damaging 107 cars, 163 motorbikes, and 13 electric motorbikes.
Compared to the same period in 2023, traffic accidents decreased by 27 cases; deaths decreased by 29 and injuries decreased by 27.

The provincial police directed the traffic police force to organize 16,740 patrols and traffic control shifts with 64,960 officers and soldiers participating, detecting and making administrative records on traffic order and safety in 40,697 cases; issuing decisions to punish 35,624 cases, transferring more than 69.5 billion VND to the State Budget.

The Department of Transport Inspectorate has conducted specialized inspections and examinations of 337 organizations and individuals; administratively sanctioned 196 violations, with a total fine of VND581.2 million.
In the first 6 months of 2024, the number of road motor vehicles in the whole province increased rapidly. The authorities received new registrations of 6,152 cars, 28,421 motorbikes, and 3,775 electric motorbikes. Currently, the total number of vehicles under management is 191,022 cars; 2,048,918 motorbikes; and 150,578 electric motorbikes.
Meanwhile, the road traffic infrastructure system still has many shortcomings that have not been promptly handled due to lack of funding; there are many dangerous intersections with obstructed visibility, posing a potential risk of traffic accidents.
A number of traffic participants are not proactive and do not pay attention to complying with traffic rules and regulations of law on traffic order and safety, there are many cases of intentional violations.
