(Baonghean.vn) - After Tet, some bus companies in Nghe An arbitrarily increased ticket prices, "crammed" passengers, and carried more people than allowed.

The QT sleeper bus in Yen Thanh has 45 seats, the bus company took in more passengers from Dien Chau area and crammed 55 people in. Many passengers did not have seats and had to sit and lie down along the corridor of the bus. Photo: Hai An

According to a passenger in Yen Thanh district, this person boarded a sleeper bus named Q-K in Yen Thanh district on the morning of the 8th day of Tet. The normal fare to the southern provinces is about 600,000 VND/person, but this bus company directly collected 1.5 million VND/person in cash.

What makes many passengers upset is the house.car "stuffed" with passengersexceeding the prescribed number of people. The bus had 45 reclining seats, but the bus company went to Dien Chau district and took on more passengers, "cramming" 55 people. Many passengers did not have reclining seats and had to sit or lie along the corridor of the bus.

Not only QK bus company, at this time CAT bus company in Do Luong district also raised ticket prices to the southern provinces from 600 thousand VND to 1.5 million VND/person. Some angry passengers said: After Tet, there are few buses, the number of passengers is high, so we have to accept the above "exorbitant" price.

Through research in Yen Thanh and Do Luong districts, most bus companies operating in the southern provinces have increased their prices after Tet, with fares to the South ranging from 1.4 to 1.5 million VND/person. Regarding the fare increase, some bus companies said that this is an additional charge for the return trip when the bus has almost no passengers.

For routes from Nghe An to Hanoi and the northern provinces, ticket prices are quite stable, increasing slightly from only 170,000 - 200,000 VND/ticket.

To prevent the situation of bus companies "cramming" passengers and increasing ticket prices more than double after Tet, it is recommended that functional agencies coordinate with localities to strictly control and strictly handle acts of squeezing passengers, speculating and increasing ticket prices and transportation fees against regulations.
