According to the Department of Industry and Trade, the export turnover in 11 months reached 749 million USD, exceeding the 2016 plan by more than 10%. Of which, the export turnover of goods was 491.3 million USD, up 18%; labor export was 247.21 million USD; foreign currency collection services increased by 10.40 million USD. Import turnover was estimated at 447.7 million USD, up 32% over the same period last year.

Textiles have made a strong breakthrough.

According to Mr. Hoang Van Tam - Director of the Department of Industry and Trade, in 2016, the estimated import and export both met and exceeded the plan. In Nghe An, there are 129 enterprises participating in export activities, of which 52 enterprises achieved turnover of 1 million USD or more and 32 enterprises achieved turnover of 3 million USD or more.

Some export enterprises achieved quite good turnover such as Prex Vinh Company Limited rose to the leading position with 78.6 million USD, mainly exporting processed clothing products; Thanh Thanh Dat Company Limited 73.3 million USD, mainly exporting wood chips; Minh Anh - Kim Lien Garment Joint Stock Company 40.9 million USD, exporting processed clothing products; BSE Vietnam Electronics Company Limited 30.6 million USD, exporting mobile phone speakers; Namsung - Vina Company Limited 22.57 million USD, exporting processed clothing products...

Since the beginning of the year, enterprises in the province have exported over 24 items/groups of items to foreign markets. Leading the way is textiles and garments with a turnover of 154.67 million USD, an increase of 77.5% over the same period last year. The item has the participation of 8 enterprises in export. Mr. Tran Duc Long - Chief Accountant of Prex Vinh Company Limited said that the export turnover of the enterprise since the beginning of the year has reached 78.6 million USD. The goods are exported to many markets such as: Korea, China, Japan, USA, Germany, ... Currently, the enterprise is focusing on making orders for sportswear to export to Korea at the end of December.

Ranked “second” is wood chips with an estimated export turnover of 82.38 million USD, equivalent to the turnover in 2015 (81.7 million USD). Currently, Nghe An’s wood chips are mainly exported to the Chinese market, with 3 enterprises participating in the export: Thanh Thanh Dat Co., Ltd., LD Paper Material Planting and Processing Company, Hoang Anh Nghe An Co., Ltd. Next is the white stone group, with an export turnover of nearly 61 million USD in 11 months.

However, some items have decreased turnover such as cassava and cassava starch - traditional export products of enterprises in the province, but since the beginning of the year, it has decreased by 60% (in 2015 it reached 45.15 million USD, but this year it only reached 18 million USD). The goods are mainly exported to the Chinese market with 8 enterprises participating in the export.

Imported machinery and equipment increased sharply

Being present at Cua Lo Port in the last days of the year, we clearly felt the urgent working spirit of the majority of workers. Mr. Tran Van Dat - Deputy General Director of Nghe Tinh Port Joint Stock Company, Director of Cua Lo Loading and Unloading Enterprise said: Since the beginning of the year, the volume of goods through Cua Lo Port has reached more than 2 million tons, an increase of 4% over the same period; the total volume of goods loaded and unloaded has reached more than 4 million tons (an increase of 28%), the total revenue has reached over 110 billion VND.

Typically, coal products increased by 2 times due to the additional coal supply for Vissai cement factories; iron, steel and equipment products increased by 2% due to the increase in equipment from China to Laos and Song Lam Cement Factory, which increased the volume of goods passing through. In addition, the port also increased the number of container shipping lines. Cua Lo loading and unloading enterprise strengthened the work of clearing ships, arranged reasonable ship schedules, which increased the volume of goods passing through the port by 15%.

Import and export turnover of goods in 11 months of 2016.

In the first 11 months of 2016, there were 114 enterprises participating in import activities in the province. Of which, the one participating in the largest import was Song Lam Cement Joint Stock Company with a turnover of 105.7 million USD, accounting for 23.6% of the total import turnover. Enterprises in the area imported 30 items/groups of items.

Since the beginning of the year, the import turnover of machinery and equipment has increased sharply compared to the same period in 2015. In 11 months, imports reached 184.78 million USD, equal to 3.18 times the turnover of the same period. The item has the participation of 38 enterprises from different markets: China, Korea, Japan, ...

Next, production materials are also a commodity with a fairly good import turnover of 105.58 million USD, up 9.7% compared to the same period in 2015. This group of goods has the participation of 17 enterprises from the markets of China, Taiwan, and Korea. In which, the largest is Prex Vinh Company Limited with 53.69 million USD, accounting for 50.8%. Phone components in 11 months reached 44.73 million USD, up 6% compared to the same period, mainly imported by BSE Vietnam Electronics Company Limited from the Korean and Chinese markets to serve the production activities of the enterprise.

In addition, beef is an item imported by An Thinh Khang Company Limited from Australia with a turnover of 38.58 million USD. This is a new item in the list of imported goods of Nghe An in 2016. Meanwhile, although wood products are always in the top of the list of imported goods, in the first 11 months of the year, they reached 16.9 million USD, a sharp decrease of 74.7% compared to the same period last year.

Sharing about solutions to create export sources in the coming time, Mr. Hoang Van Tam - Director of the Department of Industry and Trade said that to increase export turnover, it is necessary for the participation of industries in planning raw material areas, developing production and processing of export goods; Actively calling for domestic and foreign investment in Nghe An to invest in producing export goods.
