Comedians reunite in Tet movie
The film "Tet Tet Tet" by director Loc Linh brings together many famous names in the comedy scene of Ho Chi Minh City such as Meritorious Artist Viet Anh, Phi Phung, Hong To, Linh Trung, Huu Thach...
Tet Tet Tet is a 20-episode television series that recreates the bustling atmosphere of welcoming spring in a small village in the Southwest region. Besides praising the beautiful customs in the traditional Tet celebration of the nation, the film condemns the social evils that occur in the countryside during Tet.
The script revolves around the family life of Mr. Tu Hien (Meritorious Artist Viet Anh), Mr. Sau Khoe (Bao Khuong) and Mr. Muoi Hai (Bao Tri), farming families who are always conscious of preserving the national cultural identity. Opposing them are the families of Mr. Mao (Hong To) and Mr. Ba Hao (Duy Phuong), who always consider Tet an occasion to expand their wealth, looking down on the rustic lifestyle of their neighbors. The conflicts between the families cause many funny situations for those involved.

The film also depicts typical portraits of farmers who have been corrupted by many social evils. Artist Phi Phung plays a woman who is addicted to gambling, speaks rudely, causing her neighbors to laugh at and avoid her. Actor Huu Thach continues to develop his humorous acting style in the role of a carefree, thoughtless young man in his 30s, who spends all day drinking. Tet is a favorable occasion for people like Aunt Bay Co Bac (Phi Phung) or Bon Xi (Huu Thach) to lure honest, simple farmers into gambling, winning and losing... causing them to go bankrupt, and be shunned by their wives, children, and friends.
Huu Thach said that although he is only a supporting character, his role is a warning to idle, aimless rural youth. "Men who don't work and get drunk all day are my forte. In this film, I added a bit of stupidity to the character to increase the humor. The audience will find Bon Xi both hateful and pitiful," the actor said.
The film was filmed long before Tet, so the crew encountered many difficulties in creating the setting to suit the spring atmosphere. The crew spent two months traveling throughout the Southwest region to complete the scenes. "While filming, we felt like we were living in the real Tet atmosphere. This year, we celebrated Tet earlier than every year thanks to filming Tet Tet Tet," said artist Thanh Thuy (playing Mrs. Tu Hien).
Tet Tet Tet will be broadcast on television during the Lunar New Year, starting from February 15.
