Suspecting that a worker was using magic, the boss put a gun to his head and threatened to shoot him.
Believing that the female worker and her husband used "magic" to harm his family, the ice company owner pulled out a gun and threatened to shoot them, forcing them to move elsewhere.
On November 15, Colonel Tran Ngoc Hanh, Director of Can Tho City Police, said that the Investigation Police Department of Cai Rang District Police had just initiated a case, prosecuted the accused and issued a 3-month temporary detention order for Mr. Nguyen Hoang Nam (61 years old, residing in Le Binh Ward, Cai Rang District, Can Tho City), for the act of "Threatening to kill".
According to the initial investigation, at noon on November 4, Mr. Nam left his house and went to the ice factory. When he left, he carried a rubber bullet gun (model SĐN-E112) and pointed it at Ms. LTH (a worker hired by Mr. Nam). Mr. Nam cursed loudly, forcing Ms. H. and her husband to quit their jobs and move elsewhere.
When he was about 2 meters away from Ms. H., Mr. Nam continued to point the gun at the victim, continued to curse, and threatened to shoot. Ms. H. did not dare to answer, Mr. Nam moved closer, put the gun to her head, and threatened to shoot. At this time, Mr. Nam's wife ran out of the house and snatched the gun from her husband's hand to put it away. Many factory workers intervened, and Ms. H. left the ice factory and went outside. After that, the victim went to the local police to report the incident.

At this time, Mr. Nam continued to carry 2 knives to the room Ms. H. was renting (more than 20 meters from Mr. Nam's house). Here, Mr. Nam did not meet the victim but met another woman. Mr. Nam held a knife to the woman's neck and threatened to kill her. People around ran out to stop him, then he left, and the victim had a mark on her neck.
After that, the woman told Ms. H. not to go home because Mr. Nam threatened to kill her. Fearing that Mr. Nam would endanger her life, Ms. H. and her husband quit their jobs and moved to another place that same day. The following days, Mr. Nam and some young men went to the area where Ms. H. and her husband were renting a room in Hung Thanh ward, Cai Rang district to search. Fearing for her and her family's lives, Ms. H. continued to change her place of residence to another place.
Based on the victim’s report, Cai Rang District Police began an investigation. Initially, Mr. Nam admitted to holding a gun to the victim’s head. According to his explanation, he used the gun to threaten the two women so that they would quit their jobs, not with the intention of killing them (!?). Mr. Nam said that Ms. H. and her husband used “magic” to harm his family.
However, through working with the investigators, Mr. Nam admitted that this suspicion was unfounded. According to the results of the forensic examination of the Institute of Criminal Science (Ministry of Public Security) in Ho Chi Minh City, the gun used by the suspect was a support tool, shooting at people with the potential to cause injury.
After consolidating the case file, on November 13, the Cai Rang District Police Department initiated a criminal case, prosecuted the accused and detained Mr. Nguyen Hoang Nam for 3 months. Currently, Cai Rang District Police is continuing to coordinate with the Can Tho City Police Department to expand the investigation of the case.
It is known that Mr. Nam is from Rach Goi town, Chau Thanh A district, Hau Giang province. Many years ago, he went to Can Tho city to start a business and became the owner of many ice companies in Can Tho city, as well as neighboring provinces.
5 years ago (2012), Mr. Nam caused a stir in public opinion nationwide when he returned his daughter-in-law to her family because he thought she "lost her virginity" before going to her husband's house.
