Nghi Loc: Support for nylon and hybrid rice seed prices for spring crop production

(Baonghean.vn) - In the 2017 Spring crop, Nghi Loc district plans to produce over 13,000 hectares of various crops. Of which, 7,600 hectares of rice, nearly 3,000 hectares of peanuts, and 2,400 hectares of corn. The district supports 20,000 VND/kg of plastic to cover spring seedlings. For the 5 communes of Nghi Cong Nam, Nghi Yen, Nghi Tien, Nghi Quang and Nghi Thiet, hybrid rice prices are supported.

Nghi Loc farmers prepare land for spring crop production

Currently, Nghi Loc farmers have begun to go to the fields to produce the Spring crop. Nghi Loc District People's Committee has directed farmers to actively implement production according to the crop schedule; proactively implement response solutions, focus on converting crop structure and scientific irrigation... to ensure safe and effective Spring crop production.

To achieve the total output of 52,800 tons as planned, along with the support policies of the province, Nghi Loc District People's Committee also has a support policy of 20,000 VND/kg of plastic coating. For the 5 communes of Nghi Cong Nam, Nghi Yen, Nghi Tien, Nghi Quang and Nghi Thiet, due to drought and salinity, they cannot produce the Summer-Autumn crop, so they are supported from 10,000 - 20,000 VND/kg of hybrid rice seeds and pure rice seeds in the Spring crop production.

Mr. Dong Thanh Binh - Deputy Head of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Nghi Loc district said: "After completing the land preparation stage, the People's Committee of Nghi Loc district directed localities to focus on preparing all conditions for simultaneous seeding so that after the Lunar New Year, they will simultaneously go to the fields to plant rice, striving for a completely successful Winter-Spring crop."

Faced with the challenges of the weather situation, to achieve the set targets, the District People's Committee has directed departments, branches, organizations and localities to do a good job of propaganda and mobilization of the people. At the same time, assigning cadres to stay close to the grassroots, providing guidance on production techniques, and advising farmers to plant seeds simultaneously in each area and field.
