Nghi Loc responds to the Month of Action against Drugs

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of June 18, Nghi Loc District People's Committee organized a rally to respond to the Month of Action against Drugs and the International Day against Drugs (June 26) 2014.

Nghi Loc district has many inter-provincial and inter-district routes running through it, and many industrial parks located in the area, which are favorable conditions for economic, cultural and social development, but this is also the environment for drug addicts to take advantage of to operate, easily arising and developing. In recent years, drug abuse in the district has tended to be complicated, the number of new addicts and the number of detected cases related to drugs has tended to increase.

In recent times, the Standing Committee of the District Party Committee has strongly directed the entire political system to strengthen the fight against drugs. Departments, organizations and functional forces have actively coordinated and implemented many specific solutions in preventing drug abuse and achieved many important results. In the first 6 months of 2014, functional forces discovered and arrested 10 cases/28 drug offenders, including 3 drug cases, seized 15.95g of heroin, 12g of synthetic drugs, made records to send 4 subjects to centralized drug rehabilitation, made records to rehabilitate 15 people in the community.

At the launching ceremony, Nghi Loc district leaders requested departments, unions, and units in the area to step up the propaganda of the Party's policies and the State's laws and policies on drug prevention and control; strengthen State management of security and order, and drug prevention and control, organize peak periods to attack all types of crimes, prevent and strictly handle acts of drug trafficking, storage and use; strongly launch a movement for the entire population to actively participate in protecting national security, build self-management groups, crime denunciation mailboxes, and organize commitments for each household, promptly detect and denounce drug crimes, and actively help and reform drug-addicted youth union members in the process of drug rehabilitation and reintegration into the community... Thereby, creating a safe and healthy environment, contributing to stabilizing the security and order situation and socio-economic development in the entire district.
