The construction unit mobilized vehicles to dredge the riverbed and restore the flow.

Accordingly, from September 19, the Management Board of the Southeast Economic Zone has directed the construction unit, Thanh Hoa Traffic Company 1, to demolish the service road, mobilize three excavators to continuously dredge and clear the flow at the construction site of Nghi Thuan Bridge, minimizing the erosion affecting households on the riverbank.

200 meters of the right bank of the Cam River in Hamlet 10, Nghi Thuan Commune, has been eroded and is being repaired.

By September 23, the construction unit had dredged over 10,000 cubic meters of soil and rock, basically clearing and widening the flow that was blocked by the service road. Nghi Loc District People's Committee directed the District Compensation and Site Clearance Council and Nghi Thuan Commune People's Committee to inventory the assets and structures of affected households on the riverbank where the erosion occurred and develop a detailed plan to relocate these households if the incident continues to occur during heavy rains.

Currently, the Management Board of the Southeast Economic Zone is continuing to direct the construction unit to carry out the dumping of soil and rock on the eroded section of the Cam River bank to prevent further erosion into the bank.

Nghi Thuan Bridge across the Cam River, part of the N5 Road Project (section 2), is under construction. The construction unit has filled most of the Cam River bed to build a service road connecting to the temporary bridge. Heavy rain from September 14 to 18 caused the Cam River to flow strongly. Due to the narrowing and changing direction of the flow, the river water encroached deep into the residential area of Hamlet 10, Nghi Thuan Commune. As a result, the right bank of the Cam River here was eroded with a length of 200 meters and a width of 15 meters. The river water swept away nearly 100 timber trees planted by households on the riverbank and 12 tents of households trading at the temporary market here. On September 17, after inspecting the scene, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Dinh Viet Hong directed the Management Board of the Southeast Economic Zone and the Nghi Loc District People's Committee to urgently deploy measures to overcome the landslide incident, ensuring safety for households in the area.
