Nghi Loc summarizes 10 years of the People's movement to protect national security in religious areas

(Baonghean) - Nghi Loc district has just held a summary of 10 years of implementing Directive 50 of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee on promoting the movement of All people protecting national security among Catholics.

Currently, Nghi Loc has 9,605 households, 46,880 Catholic followers with 18 parishes and 58 congregations, 61 religious worship facilities, 50 Catholic hamlets, accounting for 23.5% of the district's population. Every year, the district organizes for 100% of households to sign a commitment to "Living a good life and following the religion", "Respecting God and loving the country" with the content of "4 builds and 4 nos" (building a cultural family, village, and commune; building parishes and clans to live a good life and following the religion; building a movement to help each other to eliminate poverty and build a movement for the whole people to protect national security, no people illegally trading or storing drugs; no people storing silver or gambling; no people getting drunk, fighting and causing disorder in the village, no people stealing, robbing property and committing other crimes).

Up to now, the whole district has established 132 self-management boards, 396 self-management groups, 100% of parishes, parishes and parish hamlets do not have complicated drug and social evil gathering places. 80% of parishioners' families have solidly built houses, 100% of households have access to grid electricity. The rate of well-off and rich households accounts for 40.4%, poor households have decreased to 19.8%, no household has to live in dilapidated thatched houses. 100% of children go to school, 100% of schools in the district have been upgraded and newly built to meet teaching and learning needs.
