At 5:30 p.m. on August 22, on National Highway 1A (at the foot of Cam Bridge, in Nghi Yen Commune, Nghi Loc District), a truck with license plate number 37C 01846 was traveling in the direction of Vinh - Hanoi. When reaching the south of Cam Bridge, the driver suddenly lost control, the vehicle crashed into the right guardrail and plunged straight down the bank of Cam River. The rare thing is that although the height from the road surface to the river bank was about 5 meters, the driver (identity not yet determined) was fortunately only slightly injured.

Nghi Loc District Police arrived promptly to direct traffic as a large crowd of passersby came to watch. The cause of the accident was initially determined to be the driver falling asleep and losing control. By 6 p.m., the accident scene had been cleared.
