(Baonghean) - The harshness of the living environment, the Lao wind and white sand, the unfavorable rains, the unfavorable storms of the freezing winter and the scorching hot season... have naturally trained and molded the Nghe people into a miraculous ability, strong enough to endure, resist, and even control that harshness. It has also created for the Nghe people a sustainable community bond, becoming the source of the spirit of solidarity, hard work, diligence, studiousness, courage, and straightforwardness. The gentleness, the sweetness, the calmness, the flexibility or the reserve... seem quite strange to the behavior of the Nghe people. It is possible to recognize the Nghe people, not only by their voices but also by their personalities. Many dynasties in history have chosen the Nghe land as the place to recruit soldiers, because they believed they needed the Nghe people.
During the two resistance wars against France and the US, hundreds of thousands of Nghe people were pioneers on all fronts. Even in football, Nghe people also created a "very Song Lam" style of play, fierce, not afraid of collision. Nghe people left a good impression not only on scholars and researchers but also on a number of senior leaders. Prime Minister Pham Van Dong once affirmed: "Nghe - Tinh people are the most valuable asset of the locality and the whole country". Today, in the economic field, many Nghe businessmen have become famous in different regions, the Nghe business community in Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, and even abroad, are all names that are not inferior...
After the country entered the economic renovation process, with the establishment of a series of industrial zones, especially in the southern provinces, Nghe An people are a significant source of labor in both quantity and quality. To be fair, the contribution of Nghe An workers in the past decades in industrial zones is very large and very positive. In a statement to the press, Mr. Bui Thanh Nhan - Vice Chairman of the Binh Duong Provincial Labor Federation frankly confided: "The great advantage that workers in Nghe An, Thanh Hoa, Ha Tinh provinces have that other provinces do not have, or are not equal to, is diligence, hard work, they are not afraid of overtime, staying up late, waking up early. Without workers from the above provinces, Binh Duong could not have developed as it is today." We think that is a quite fair statement. However, besides the positive and the priority, we also need to frankly think that some qualities, or some characteristics of Nghe people need to be adjusted, if we do not want to deprive ourselves of the opportunity to integrate. Nghe workers are hard-working, diligent, intelligent, agile, but they are often hot-tempered, protest, and gather to attract. When demanding their rights, they are fierce, the arrogant and even pathological nature of some people leads them to extremism and self-esteem.
In order for Nghe workers to promote their advantages and limit their disadvantages, it is necessary for the provincial labor management agency and local authorities to widely propagate to all classes of people. In particular, it is necessary to equip workers with integration skills in the industrial environment. During the vocational training process, it is necessary to devote a part of time and content specifically for Nghe workers. In addition to professional qualifications and skills, they need to be equipped with culture and labor skills in the industrial environment. The good qualities of Nghe people must be promoted, but what is not suitable in the industrial environment must also be boldly eliminated. More than ever, workers need to immediately recognize their weaknesses to overcome them. No one can prove it but themselves!
