Nghia Dan: 8,247 good production and business households at all levels

(Baonghean.vn) - On December 16, the Farmers' Association of Nghia Dan district held a conference to review 5 years of implementing Resolution No. 02 of the Provincial Farmers' Association Executive Committee, term VII, on "Innovation and improvement of the quality of branch and group activities"; Summarize the Association's work and farmers' movement in 2014, deploy directions and tasks for 2015.

Conference overview

The Farmers' Association of Nghia Dan district has 25 branches and 309 sub-associations, of which 31 have Catholic members, 154 have ethnic minority members and 109 are eligible for Program 135. Implementing Resolution 02 of the Provincial Farmers' Association Executive Committee, in the past 5 years, Farmers' Associations at all levels in the district have focused on innovating the content, methods and quality of branch activities. In addition to regular meetings, the branches also have activities on topics such as disseminating scientific and technical advances, short-term vocational training; implementing bank loans, Farmers' Support Fund capital, deferred fertilizer loans, etc. The activities of the branches are increasingly diverse, focusing more on the interests of members, the content of branch activities is rich in both content and form, creating a position for the association to develop quickly and sustainably.

In 2014, the District Farmers' Association closely coordinated with the Social Policy Bank to lend 4,563 farming households a total of VND 84.947 billion; well managed the use of VND 1.7 billion of the Central and Provincial Support Fund, and at the same time deployed loans of VND 106,139,000 from the District Farmers' Support Fund to 18 farming households. Signed a credit contract with the Agricultural Materials Company and Thanh Trung Trading Joint Stock Company to lend farmers 438.68 tons of various fertilizers. Built 7 collective economic models, 4 skillful mass mobilization models, including 2 models of breeding goats, 1 model of growing high-yield green squash, 1 model of broom making village, 2 models of raising sows and pigs, and 1 model of raising chickens. The practical work of the Association at all levels has promoted the movement of farmers competing in good production and business, uniting to help each other get rich and sustainably reduce poverty. Up to now, the whole district has 8,247 good production and business households at all levels, including 72 central-level households, 532 provincial-level households and 1,120 district-level good production and business households.

At the summary conference, the Association awarded Certificates of Merit from the Provincial Farmers' Association to 3 collectives and 3 individuals; Certificates of Merit from the District People's Committee to 2 collectives and 2 individuals; Certificates of Merit from the District Farmers' Association to 18 collectives and 16 individuals.
