Nghia Dan discusses solutions to implement poverty reduction targets and plans

(Baonghean.vn) - On October 10, the People's Committee of Nghia Dan district held a conference to evaluate and discuss solutions to implement the poverty reduction targets and plans for 2014 and provide training on investigation and review of poor, near-poor and average-income households in the area.

Delegates expressed their opinions on implementation solutions.

From 2011 to 2013, Nghia Dan district reduced 1,197 poor households, equivalent to 5.39%; 1,029 near-poor households, equivalent to 2.23%. The poverty rate of Nghia Dan district in 2013 was 16.96%, near-poor 13.18%. Many communes had an increase in the poverty rate such as Nghia Thang, Nghia Lac, Nghia Hung, Nghia Yen, Nghia Mai...In 2014, Nghia Dan strives to reduce poverty to 12.4%, the re-poverty rate is below 5%.

At the conference, delegates raised the causes and proposed solutions to reduce poor and near-poor households: strengthening propaganda, raising awareness of poverty reduction; investigating and reviewing poor households in accordance with procedures, fairly, democratically, and publicly; including poverty reduction results in the emulation criteria of communes and towns... On this occasion, the People's Committee of Nghia Dan district also organized training on professional investigation and review of poor, near-poor and households with average living standards in the area.
