At the scene, detectives seized 8.6 grams of heroin from Dat. Through initial investigation, Vi Van Dat admitted that he was an addict and often went to drug selling spots near the border or crossed the border to Mong villages (Laos) to buy drugs to sell for profit and use. Thong Thu Border Guard Station initiated a criminal case and handed over the suspect and evidence to Que Phong District Police for further investigation and handling.
