Foreign player Vinicius: 'I am gradually adapting to SLNA's playing style'
(Baonghean.vn) - Striker Joel Vinicius, the new Brazilian player of Song Lam Nghe An, shared his thoughts on his new team before facing Nam Dinh Club in round 18 of V.League.
Joel Vinicius was born in 1994, from Brazil. This player came to play for Than Quang Ninh in V.League 2018 and scored 9 goals. In V.League 2019, he joined Ho Chi Minh City Club and contributed 6 goals in the first leg.
However, the head coach of Ho Chi Minh City Club, Mr. Chung Hae-seong, decided to sell the player who scored the most goals for the team. Striker Joel Vinicius suddenly moved to SLNA on a free transfer after only 1 training session.
In SLNA’s shirt, foreign player Vinicius has played 4 matches and scored 1 goal on penalty kick. This is considered an achievement that is not as good as expected by Nghe An fans. Nghe An Newspaper had an interview with this player.

PV:In the Ho Chi Minh City FC shirt, you were the player who scored the most goals in the team. Can you explain the reason why you left this team to come to SLNA?
Forward Joel Vinicius:That was the decision of the Head Coach of Ho Chi Minh City Club and I respect that. I was also surprised, but that's football. I don't want to mention it again because now I am a member of SLNA.
PV:Joining SLNA quite quickly, what made you feel difficult when coming here?
Forward Joel Vinicius:The hot and uncomfortable weather was also an obstacle, very different from Ho Chi Minh City, but it was not too big a problem. The important thing is that I can adapt. In the first match I felt difficult, but now I feel better.
In terms of playing style, each team has a different style of play. So now I have to adapt to SLNA's playing style. SLNA's playing style is also normal, not too difficult to integrate. Now I am more confident and adaptable than the first and second matches.

PV:After 4 matches for SLNA, Vinicius has only scored 1 goal for the team. Does that reflect his current form?
Forward Joel Vinicius:The most important thing is that I can still contribute to the team's overall play. There is nothing special, I played differently from the first leg, but I believe I will adapt to find 100% of my form and ability again.
PV:In the previous match against HAGL, SLNA played quite well but still lost. What has caused the team to not have the expected results in recent matches?
Forward Joel Vinicius:SLNA players still played very hard but luck was not on SLNA's side in finishing shots. In football, luck is also a decisive factor. Besides, I think we need to play more focused.

PV:After an unsuccessful match, the head coach is the one under the most pressure. How do you feel about coach Nguyen Duc Thang?
Forward Joel Vinicius:Yes, I know, because he does everything to support and help us. I think this pressure is also necessary for the players. I was a little dissatisfied with myself after the match because I know SLNA needed to win to help the coach reduce the pressure.
PV:In round 18, SLNA will be a guest against Nam Dinh Club without two players Michael Olaha and Memovic. Do you feel worried?
Forward Joel Vinicius:They are very good players and very important in the SLNA squad. But my teammates and I will fight our best so that SLNA can win the upcoming match. Hopefully luck will be with us.
PV: Thank you and wish Vinicius good luck!
