Cuban Foreign Minister Denies Sonic Wave Allegations While on US Territory
US-Cuba relations show no signs of easing over sonic attack allegations.
Yesterday (October 28), Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez denied allegations of a sonic attack on American staff at the US Embassy in Cuba, calling the accusation "completely false".

Speaking in Washington, DC while attending a conference on Cubans living in the United States, Cuban Foreign Minister Rodriguez affirmed that the US government's decision to expel 15 Cuban diplomats based on these unjust accusations was political and aimed at undermining bilateral relations.
According to him, allowing “any political disagreement” between the two sides to become measures affecting the people of the two countries is “unacceptable and immoral.” According to the Cuban Foreign Minister, recent tensions between the two governments have significantly affected diplomatic relations between the US and Cuba.
“The so-called attacks that the United States has alleged are unjustified. Any attack, any incident is wrong,” Rodriguez said. “The United States government made an unfounded, rash, hasty and unacceptable decision to expel 15 Cuban diplomats in the United States. This measure negatively affects the work of the embassy and makes it difficult for the Cuban authorities and their efforts to arrange travel for Cubans living in the United States.”
Earlier, US officials said the attacks in Cuba, which affected at least 24 US diplomats, may have been carried out with a sonic device, despite strong objections from Cuba.
So far, the US has not released any evidence, but has officially called the incident a “sonic attack” and taken a series of measures to escalate bilateral tensions, including withdrawing 60% of its embassy staff in Cuba and expelling a total of 15 Cuban embassy staff in the US.
US President Donald Trump said last week that Cuba must be held responsible for the incident. In addition, the US also stopped issuing visas to Cubans for a month - a move that Cuba considered "unreasonable"./.
