According to THX and AFP, on February 11, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that the crisis in Ukraine cannot be resolved by military means.

Interfax news agency quoted Mr. Lavrov as saying after a meeting with Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Kotzias: "We agree that this crisis cannot be resolved by military means. The path to peace lies within the framework of direct dialogue between Kiev authorities and those who want to protect their territories in the southeast (of Ukraine)."

"The whole current process in Ukraine can only end with a political solution that takes into account the interests of all ethnic groups in Ukraine," he asserted.

On the same day, the Bosnia-Herzegovina President's Office opposed allowing arms exports to Ukraine due to concerns that Russia could retaliate by cutting off gas supplies during the winter.

"The export of weapons and military equipment to Ukraine at the present time does not correspond to the foreign policy interests of Bosnia-Herzegovina. This will not contribute to security and stability in the region or to international diplomatic efforts aimed at achieving a peaceful solution to the crisis in Ukraine," the presidential office said in a statement./.
