Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov: Western elites 'instigate crises' around the world
(Baonghean.vn) - Russian diplomat said that a multipolar world is needed to ensure peace and stability.

According to RT on December 28, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov recently declared that the West is spreading chaos around the world, igniting conflicts to satisfy its own needs and making others pay the price.
“The world is still in chaos. And one of the reasons for this is that the ruling class in the West is inciting crises thousands of kilometers away from its borders, in order to achieve its own goals at the expense of other countries,” Lavrov said in an interview published by the TASS news agency on December 27.
“As the West continues to cling to its declining dominance, no one is safe from its geopolitical maneuvering. This awareness is growing globally.”
The minister added that Western countries will sooner or later “have to accept the reality of a multipolar world, and that is when all problems will be solved on the basis of balancing interests”.
Lavrov's remarks come as Russia, China and India increasingly speak out about the need for a model that can reshape global politics in a more fair and equitable way.
In the interview, Mr. Lavrov accused the West of provoking the Russia-Ukraine conflict through “NATO expansion and through turning Ukraine into an anti-Russian bulwark.” He also blamed the West for the “escalation” between Israel and Palestine.
According to RT, Russia is one of the countries that has been calling for an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. The US has blocked several UN Security Council resolutions calling for a complete end to hostilities between Israel and Palestinian militants.
Israel and the US insist that a ceasefire at this point would only benefit the militant group Hamas, while the United Nations has issued numerous warnings about the alarming death toll in Gaza.
