Tien Thuy fishermen are bustling in the Northern fish season.

(Baonghean.vn)- Located 12 km east of Cau Giat town, Tien Thuy commune (Quynh Luu) has the typical features of a coastal commune. The working life of the people here forms a cycle of morning and night, especially when the Northern fish season has begun, this cycle of work is more bustling than ever.

Early in the morning, when the boats dock, the working atmosphere at Lach Quen fishing port becomes more bustling than ever.

After the offshore trip, the full fish holds were transported to the mainland. Along with small fish consumed in the domestic market, high-value, quality fish such as grouper, sardines, and pickled herring, etc. were exported to foreign markets.

Thanks to bold investment, applying modern machinery to exploitation such as positioning devices, fish detectors, walkie-talkies, investing funds, buying large ships, large machines to go offshore, many ships each fishing trip lasts from a week to 10 days to collect dozens of tons of fish of all kinds, of which 90% of the fish are exported, earning from 150 - 300 million VND/trip.

Although they don't go out to sea to fish, Tien Thuy women are also busy with their seafood purchasing and processing work.

When night falls, the fishing port is still bustling to welcome the boats docking. Mr. Nguyen Van Ke - Vice President of Tien Thuy Farmers' Association said that the whole commune currently has more than 350 fishing boats. Of these, 160 boats have from 300 to more than 1,000 horsepower.

This season, fishermen start the Northern fish season and it lasts until April of the following year. Fish such as anchovies, spotted scad, mullet, tuna... are in a bumper season.

With more than 2,000 workers participating in the fishing industry, Tien Thuy people are increasingly asserting their strengths to stabilize their lives and become rich.

It was past 11pm when the fishermen finished transporting the fish to shore. The very next day they continued their journey out to sea.
