Thai opposition protesters marched on November 30 targeting key state media groups after vowing a final push to topple the government.

This move comes as the capital Bangkok prepares for massive protests by rival factions.

According to Bangkok police, thousands of anti-government protesters gathered at five bases in the Thai capital on the same day and began marching to surround the offices of the Telephone Authority of Thailand (TOT) and the Communications Authority of Thailand (CAT) - two key state-owned telecommunications companies.

The number of people taking to the streets is expected to surge over the weekend as organizers seek to make a final push ahead of King Bhumibol Adulyadej's birthday on December 5, an event that is usually held in a peaceful and respectful atmosphere.

“We will control this area like we did at the Ministry of Finance and ask employees not to work, so that on December 1 all establishments will be closed,” protest spokesman Akanat Promphan said./.
