The hot weather has caused many areas of rice planted by people in Tuong Duong district to dry up and wither. Mr. Kha Gia Ngoc, Na Tong village, Tam Thai commune, Tuong Duong district said that his family has nearly 1 hectare of rice fields, of which nearly half of the area has been planted. Due to the hot weather, the planted rice areas have dried up and withered. Although it has rained, many areas of young rice seedlings are still severely drought-stricken, almost impossible to recover. Photo: Ho Phuong |

The rice fields that were planted before the heat wave are old, but many people still use them to plant rice in time for the season. In addition to the rice area, Tuong Duong district also has more than 70 hectares of cassava, 200 hectares of upland rice, and 80 hectares of corn that have been almost completely lost due to the heat wave that lasted for more than a month.
