Under the influence of crowd psychology and seen as a way to accumulate and save, many people rush to buy gold on this day to bring good luck at the beginning of the year, pray for prosperity throughout the year and hope to have more savings in the year.

In the crowded crowd jostling to buy gold at the Agribank North Central Gold Branch, Ms. Duong Thi Le in Nghi Phu Commune, Vinh City shared: "Seeing everyone jostling to buy gold on the God of Wealth Day, I also came to buy a few taels with the hope of wishing for good luck for the whole year, hoping for a smooth business year with lots of luck, and having savings."

At 9:00 a.m. on January 10 (lunar calendar) at the North Central Agribank Gold Branch, the selling price of SJC gold bars was 3,790,000 VND/tael, 9999 gold and 3A gold bars were both selling at 3,540,000 VND/tael, an increase of 10,000 VND/tael compared to yesterday.

Mr. Nguyen Long Hung, Branch Director said: “To ensure the source of gold for sale on the God of Wealth Day, the branch has prepared 1,200 taels of gold, an increase of about 30% compared to the same day last year. Gold products are also abundant, meeting the diverse needs of people, from plain round rings, to gold bars with the image of the God of Wealth, or gold with the symbol of the zodiac animal - the mascot of this year is the chicken. From 6:30 this morning, the branch opened to sell gold to serve customers, mainly customers buy from 1 to 5 taels for luck at the beginning of the year. With the sudden increase in customers, it is expected that 1,200 taels of gold will be consumed in a day, we are adding more supply from the Corporation to ensure full response to market demand.”

At Tien Phong TP Bank Nghe An branch, Ms. Tran Thi Huyen Trang - customer service director said that all types of round gold or gold bars printed with the image of the God of Wealth of DOJI Gemstone Group are sold at the same price. At 9am, it was 37,350 million VND/tael. This is the second year the branch has been trading gold on the God of Wealth day. To proactively serve customers' needs, we have prepared 100 taels of gold, all of which are DOJI brand.

At private gold trading enterprises, the number of customers buying is also bustling, the owner of Kim Dung Thong gold shop (Vinh City) said: The enterprise has prepared hundreds of taels of gold to serve the needs of customers on the God of Wealth Day, most customers only buy 1-2 taels for luck at the beginning of the year, very few people buy large quantities, types of gold with the shape of a chicken, or 1-tael plain round rings are favored by customers.

However, the survey showed that there was a significant price difference between gold shops. At 9am, just a few steps away, at Tuan Tu gold shop, 9999 round rings were sold for 3.65 million VND/tael, and the God of Wealth was 3.8 million VND; right next door, Kim Ngoc gold shop sold round rings for 3.6 million VND/tael, and the God of Wealth was 3.7 million VND. Meanwhile, Kim Thanh Huy sold round rings for 3.65 million VND/tael, and gold bars with the God of Wealth image were 3.85 million VND.
