People discovered a dead whale on the sea in Nghe An

(Baonghean.vn)- Early morning on May 27, people going to sea discovered a dead whale floating in the sea of ​​Dien Thinh commune, Dien Chau district (Nghe An), nearly 1km from shore.

The above information was reported by people to the Department of Aquatic Resources Protection of Nghe An province.

On May 25, a giant whale weighing about 10 tons ran aground in Dien Thinh commune.

Immediately upon receiving the information, the Department of Agriculture and the Sub-Department of Aquatic Resources Protection established a working group led by Mr. Nguyen Huu Tien, Deputy Director of the Department and Mr. Nguyen Chi Luong, Sub-Department Head, to the above area to verify and check the information.

Mr. Nguyen Chi Luong said that if the information about the dead whale as provided by the people is true, the authorities will bring the whale to shore, and together with the fishermen, bury the whale according to traditional customs while protecting the marine environment.

The rescued fish was about 13 meters long, weighed more than 10 tons, had shiny black skin, and many scratches on its body.

Two days earlier, people in Dien Thinh commune discovered a giant whale stranded on the shore. Authorities mobilized three excavators to dig a trench to the sea to save the whale. By noon the same day, the whale was successfully rescued. A rescue ship of the fisheries control force and fishermen, accompanied by a team of five divers, released the whale into the deep sea, six nautical miles from shore. When released, the whale was still alive but its health was weak.

Mr. Luong confirmed that the dead fish at Dien Thinh was not the fish that was stranded the day before and was successfully rescued and released back into the sea.
