(Baonghean.vn) - At 7:30 a.m. on October 12, 2013, in Dong Hoi City (Quang Binh), the Steering Committee for the Funeral of General Vo Nguyen Giap in Quang Binh province solemnly held a ceremony at the Great Hall of the People's Committee of Quang Binh province.
Attending the ceremony were comrades: Ha Hung Cuong - Member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Justice; Lieutenant General Nguyen Huu Cuong - Commander of Military Region 4; representatives of leaders of a number of central ministries, departments and branches; departments and branches of Quang Binh province and representatives of leaders of Khammouane province (Lao PDR) and thousands of people inside and outside the province.
General Vo Nguyen Giap, former member of the Politburo, former Secretary of the Central Military Commission, former Permanent Deputy Prime Minister, former Minister of National Defense, former Commander-in-Chief of the Vietnam People's Army, National Assembly delegate from the 1st to the 7th terms, passed away at 6:09 p.m. on October 4, 2013. The funeral of General Vo Nguyen Giap was solemnly held according to the State funeral protocol on October 12 and 13, 2013. At the same time, the memorial service for General Vo Nguyen Giap also took place in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Quang Binh province.
In Quang Binh, on October 12, 2013, in a solemn and respectful atmosphere, thousands of people inside and outside the province braved the rain to visit General Vo Nguyen Giap at the Provincial People's Committee's Great Hall and General Vo Nguyen Giap Memorial House in An Xa Village, Loc Thuy Commune, Le Thuy District (Quang Binh).
