(Baonghean) - The proportion of Vietnamese goods in the distribution system in Nghe An province in markets, supermarkets, and shopping malls accounts for 90% - 95%. Of which, food items account for a high proportion of up to 98% of Vietnamese goods, household goods and electrical appliances account for about 90% of Vietnamese goods in supermarkets, and the proportion in markets is lower, only about 80%.

That shows that the campaign "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods" is achieving many results.

Vietnamese goods are more popular

In Vinh city, it is easy to see the trend of people returning to using Vietnamese goods instead of using Chinese, Laotian, and Thai goods like before. When buying fruit, candy, and clothes, Vietnamese goods are more popular if they are of good quality, competitively priced, and have a brand name. Ms. Tran Thi Ngoc in Vinh city said: For the past few years, I have not bought Chinese fruits anymore but have chosen to buy Vietnamese fruits such as bananas, custard apples, grapefruits, oranges, etc. I also prefer Vietnamese clothes because they are safe for health. Ms. Ngoc's thoughts are also the thoughts of many Nghe An consumers as they increasingly realize that Vietnamese goods have many advantages. In Vinh city, many Vietnamese brands have been noticed, especially fashion clothes, food, agricultural products, etc.

Even Nghe An products also have many good quality and popular products such as: Hoa Son turmeric starch, Nam Dan soy sauce, Vinh oranges, Van Phan fish sauce (Dien Chau), Nam Dan vermicelli, finished eel products have entered distribution systems such as: Vinmart supermarket system, Tu Son An Giang supermarket, distributors at Han market (Da Nang), Intimex supermarket system.

Implementing the campaign "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods", the mountainous district of Con Cuong in Nghe An has promoted propaganda work to all classes of people, especially in remote areas of ethnic minorities.

For example, at Cay Da market (Mon Son, Con Cuong), located more than 20 km from the district town center, there are dozens of large and small business kiosks. If 3 years ago, the goods for sale were mainly Chinese and imported goods because the prices were cheap and suitable for the budget of the people in the mountainous areas, now Vietnamese goods are more popular and have full labels.

Ms. Dau Thi Ngan, a vendor at Cay Da market (Mon Son, Con Cuong) said: Now we mainly sell Vietnamese goods because people buy very few Chinese goods.

Along with the propaganda work, mobilizing people to implement the campaign "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods", Con Cuong has done a good job of preventing and fighting against smuggled goods, fake goods, poor quality goods and goods of unknown origin, circulating in the market, especially in rural areas, remote areas... creating peace of mind for consumers. The organization of promoting high-quality Vietnamese goods is well implemented, diverse in designs, ensuring quality. The district also coordinated to build a Vietnamese goods sales point called "Proud of Vietnamese goods" in Mon Son commune, Con Cuong district...

In other localities, Vietnamese goods have also occupied the main market share according to the needs of people who want to have goods with guaranteed quality and food safety. Rich and diverse designs, increasingly improved quality... have met most of the needs and consumer tastes of people in the province. The work of building images and brands has also received more investment and attention from businesses.

Need to focus on quality for Vietnamese products

Currently, in the province, there are not many businesses and business households specializing in imported goods, focusing on cosmetics, household goods, and "hand-carried" electrical appliances from Thailand, Korea, Russia... The demand for foreign goods of people in Nghe An province is only concentrated in a few households with high incomes in Vinh city.

Meanwhile, although Vietnamese goods have a certain position, they are not sustainable. There are not many high-quality goods that are competitive enough. Vietnamese enterprises in general and in Nghe An province in particular are mostly small and medium-sized, with limited capital, poor competitiveness, using outdated equipment, and producing and manufacturing high-tech goods that are not yet available...

In order to seek, expand markets, and promote product consumption in the province, the Department of Industry and Trade has proactively implemented trade promotion activities to develop the domestic market.

In 2017, there were 9 Vietnamese goods fairs in mountainous districts: Thanh Chuong, Do Luong, Quy Chau, Tan Ky, Tuong Duong, Quy Hop... The average revenue per fair was about 600-700 million VND. The Vietnamese goods fairs have received high approval from the people, because through them, local people have the opportunity to access goods produced by domestic enterprises with quality at reasonable prices. The Department has directed, inspected and supervised 22 fairs and exhibitions in districts, cities and towns. The average number of visitors to a fair is about 8-10 thousand people. Through the fairs, Vietnamese goods have been widely promoted to all people in the area and encouraged people to buy Vietnamese goods.

Trên 70% hàng hóa tại siêu thị là hàng Việt

Over 70% of goods in supermarkets are Vietnamese goods.

A representative of the Ministry of Industry and Trade affirmed that foreign goods do not overwhelm Vietnamese goods in supermarket systems. Vietnamese goods are increasingly gaining a firm foothold in the domestic market.

To facilitate the circulation of Vietnamese goods in the market, the industry has directed the Market Management Department to strengthen market inspection and control, detect counterfeit goods, poor quality goods, and goods of unknown origin.

However, Vietnamese goods still do not have a solid position. Enterprises themselves must take care and each product must affirm its quality when it is released to the market. Manufacturing and trading enterprises also need to innovate technology, improve quality, diversify products, increase the competitiveness of goods and services, innovate business methods, and attract consumers.
