Many years ago, people in Cao Veu village, Anh Son district, often used water from the Giang River for daily use. However, now, due to the increasingly polluted water source, people in the village have to go up the mountain themselves to bring clean water from streams to their homes for use. Photo: Huyen Trang |

Once they have found a clear and cool stream, people look for a suitable location to start blocking the stream to create a water channel. Mr. Luong Van Tinh in Cao Veu 1 village, Phuc Son commune has been using this natural water source for the past 3 years, because according to him, the water flowing from the mountain is clean, and only needs to spend about 3 million to buy a water pipe to have clean water for both daily life and raising livestock, and irrigating crops, while drilling a well costs 10-12 million and the water source is sometimes not guaranteed. Mr. Nguyen Canh Hoi, a resident of Cao Veu 1 village, said: Cao Veu village has nearly 500 households, of which 3/4 use this self-flowing water system. Usually, 2 to 3 houses share a system, and those with better conditions install their own water pipes. From the streams and creeks in the forest, water is brought to the village for people to use freely. Photo: Huyen Trang |
