The floodwaters rose more than 1 meter in a moment, and the family of Ms. Cao Thi Tron in Hamlet 6, Quynh Trang Commune had to struggle with the immense sea of water. The torrential rain for more than a day had damaged all the property in the house, nearly a ton of dried rice was completely submerged. Her son's books and school supplies were all swept away by the floodwaters. In addition, her family lost more than 2 sao of vegetables, causing damage of tens of millions of dong. Now, the storm has passed, the floodwaters have receded, and the scene is piles of damaged, soaked items. Ms. Cao Thi Tron sadly said: "The flood has washed everything away, there is nothing left in the house, all the items are damaged. Nearly 4 sao of dried rice were also swept away by the floodwaters. The chickens and ducks all died, and all the items were soaked."

Mr. Dau Truat's family in hamlet 5 is the largest poultry farmer in the commune with more than 1,000 chickens, of which 500-600 chickens are sold for meat. The sudden flood caused all the poultry and livestock to be swept away and die. Mr. Truat said that before, his family had a lot of difficulties, so they borrowed money from the bank, relatives, and friends to open a poultry farm. However, before they could sell the chickens, the flood swept away his family's "assets". The estimated damage was over hundreds of millions of dong. Moreover, more than 3 sao of unharvested vegetables were also swept away by the flood. "I thought the water would not enter the house, but in 3 hours, the water rose to half the house. Looking at the chickens swept away, submerged in the flood water, I couldn't believe it. I don't know what to live on in the coming time", Mr. Truat said.

Heavy rain combined with the overflow of Vuc Mau lake has completely isolated 8 hamlets with 500 households in Quynh Trang commune. Many livestock and poultry and hundreds of tons of newly harvested rice were swept away by the water. According to preliminary statistics, the whole commune had about 200 tons of rice flooded, millions of chickens died along with thousands of pigs; 15 deer and 8 porcupines died. In addition, the whole commune suffered heavy damage to vegetable areas and ponds. In particular, in the commune there are many large livestock households, vegetable damage is worth hundreds of millions of dong.
After the flood receded, the Commune People's Committee established a relief team and directed the police, military, and youth union to visit each household to help people overcome the consequences of the storm. In addition, the commune organized the spraying of disinfectants throughout the area to prevent epidemics. To provide timely relief to the people of the whole commune after the storm, the commune allocated funds to buy hundreds of cartons of instant noodles and drinking water to distribute to the people. Organized teams to go to households to count the damage in order to have a state relief policy.

Mr. Dau Minh Cong, Chairman of Quynh Trang Commune People's Committee said: "In the immediate future, we will treat drinking water, distribute instant noodles to households to relieve hunger, coordinate with youth, police, and military to go to households to clean up houses, dry flooded rice and corn. In particular, the dead livestock and poultry will be buried to ensure environmental hygiene. Up to now, no hamlet has been isolated, and vehicles can travel."
Sharing the same situation of rising flood water in Quynh Trang commune, Hoang Mai town and the communes of Quynh Vinh, Mai Hung, Quynh Di, Quynh Thien are all in a very serious state of flooding. In some places, the water is more than 2m deep, flooding dozens of hectares of crops, winter crops and washing away hundreds of hectares of aquaculture. Quynh Di, located more than 7km from Quynh Trang commune, is also completely flooded. Mr. Nguyen Hong Cuong - the owner of a shrimp pond in Quynh Di has more than 3 hectares of shrimp farming. If there were no rain or flood, he would have sold about 2.5 tons, earning more than 400 million VND, but now it has been swept away by the flood. Not only Mr. Cuong's family, but currently, many households raising shrimp in the second crop that is about to be harvested have also been swept away, causing billions of VND in damage.
