As usual, on the occasion of Lunar New Year, the number of people coming to withdraw money from ATMs at banks in rural districts is very large, because many people who work far away return to their hometowns to celebrate Tet, so there are often long lines to wait.

According to our records, in Do Luong town on the afternoon of the 29th of Tet, at the ATM withdrawal points of the Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development, the Bank for Investment and Development... were crowded with people standing in line waiting for their turn to withdraw money. Many people had to wait for hours.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Tham, who works in Ho Chi Minh City and returned to her hometown to celebrate Tet, confided that every year, the thing she fears the most when returning to her hometown to celebrate Tet is waiting at ATMs to withdraw money. She said she has been waiting since 1 pm and still has not been able to withdraw money: the reason is that there are too many people waiting to withdraw money, the number of ATMs in the center of rural districts is too small, the demand for withdrawing money is too high, making waiting to withdraw money at ATMs a natural thing.

According to our research, ATM withdrawal points of banks in rural districts are only arranged with 1-2 machines/bank, but the demand for withdrawing money during Tet is high, unable to meet the needs of people working far away returning home to celebrate Tet, so every year, people still wait, still have to queue in long lines in front of automatic withdrawal points.
