Nurses must know how to say thank you to patients.

(Baonghean.vn) – That is one of the goals that Nghe An Nursing Association set for its members at the 6th Congress, term 2017-2022, held on the morning of September 29.

During the 2011-2017 term, Nghe An Nursing Association had 34 branches, with 3,639 members. The number of members with college degrees and above accounted for nearly 40%. All nursing branches performed their work well, creating conditions for nurses to strictly implement treatment instructions and professional technical procedures; support seriously ill patients; encourage morale, health education, and rehabilitation for patients...

The members have promoted their sense of responsibility to build a “green – clean – beautiful” medical facility and promoted the ethics of “loving others as you love yourself” to take care of patients. The majority of them participated in voluntary blood donation, donating blood to save patients from critical illness. There have been many examples of nurses who have performed well both in their professional work and in social work in the hospital. 01 member has been awarded the title of Excellent Physician by the State, 28 members have been honored as shining examples of medical ethics.

The Provincial Nursing Association has done a good job of training its members to become nurses with professional competence and good service attitude; annually, it organizes training courses and skill competitions; and encourages members to conduct and participate in scientific research and technical innovation topics. During its term, its members had 3 provincial-level topics and 248 grassroots-level topics.

With many achievements, in the 2011-2017 term, Nghe An Nursing Association received many certificates of merit from the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Transport, Provincial People's Committee, and Provincial Labor Federation.

Speaking at the Congress, the leaders of the Vietnam Nursing Association and the Nghe An Department of Health praised the achievements of the associations at all levels and members; expressed the hope that the associations at all levels and members will continue to implement the regulations on professional ethics for nurses, the 5S standard (screening, arrangement, cleanliness, care, readiness). Nursing teams need to improve their communication skills, professional skills, confidence, love for the profession, love for work, and at the same time strive to affirm their position and role in patient care.

Following the direction, in the 2017-2022 term, Nghe An Provincial Nursing Association is determined to mobilize, educate and train members to become officials who "know how to respect patients, people, colleagues; know how to comply with procedures; know how to say thank you to patients/people"; creating a difference in the quality of care services.

The congress elected 34 nurses to join the Executive Committee of the Nghe An Nursing Association for the 2017-2022 term. On this occasion, the Vietnam Nursing Association awarded certificates of merit to 05 groups and 10 individuals of the Nghe An Nursing Association; the Department of Health awarded certificates of merit to 5 groups and 9 individuals who had outstanding achievements in the work of building and developing the Nghe An Nursing Association in the period 2011-2017./.
