The person who brought aquatic species to the village
(Baonghean) - Born in 1981 in the purely agricultural commune of Quynh Dien (Quynh Luu), at the age of 12, Nguyen Trong Hoanh followed his parents to live in Da Nang. His parents specialized in running an aquatic seed production farm, so his passion for seed production attracted him from a young age...
The fate that brought Mr. Hoanh to Quynh Bang to open a shrimp and crab breeding farm was also quite coincidental. It originated from a famous shrimp farmer in Quynh who often went to Da Nang every year to learn more about shrimp farming techniques and experience. Seeing that Hoanh had good expertise, he invited him to Nghe An to support him. In 2009, Hoanh decided to bring his wife and children to Nghe An and bought a failed aquaculture breeding facility in the coastal area of Quynh Bang commune. Not hesitating to fear "curse" as some people often think, on the contrary, Hoanh focused on investing in building and expanding the system of shrimp and crab breeding farms. Amidst the murmuring sound of the waves, people saw the young couple working day and night by the breeding tanks. With knowledge and many years of experience in the profession in Da Nang, Hoanh was confident in his ability, even though the weather conditions in his hometown were not as favorable as in the interior. And in the first year of starting his business in his hometown, he successfully spawned tiger prawns and crabs of guaranteed quality to supply to the markets in the northern provinces.

Hoanh confided: The hatchery is located close to the sea, so the environment is clean, the clean water source from the sea is filtered and treated, ensuring good growth and development for the fry. The farm supplies fry directly, so shrimp farmers do not have to get fry through traders or from the southern provinces. To have good quality fry, it is necessary to choose good, healthy parent shrimp, weighing 350g/shrimp or more. After breeding, the fry are carefully raised for 30 days before being sold. The suitable temperature for shrimp development is from 28 - 300C. For crabs, the parent shrimp are from 550g or more. Crabs spawn from March to August of the lunar calendar every year, because the warm and sunny weather is favorable for crab reproduction. However, crab breeding is very difficult, requiring high techniques and special monitoring and care regimes. In the first year of breeding crabs, a mother crab only laid 20,000 - 30,000 eggs. Now, each mother crab can lay 20,000 - 30,000 eggs, depending on the quality of the mother crab.
On average, each year, Hoanh's facility produces 150 million tiger prawns and nearly 4 million crabs. The market for shrimp and crabs is very favorable, extending to the northern provinces, and all the breeds are consumed. In 5 years of breeding in Quynh Bang, he has been successful every year. Currently, the average price of tiger prawns is 40 VND/head; crabs are 500 - 600 VND/head. Hoanh said: At the end of the 2014 breeding season, crabs alone sold for 4 billion VND, after deducting costs, the net profit was 1 billion VND. In addition, selling shrimp breeds nets about 500 million VND/year.
Not satisfied with the current situation, in October 2014, Hoanh continued to invest in expanding the crab and goby breeding farms. Currently, in the Hoang Mai and Quynh Luu TX areas, there is no facility that has successfully produced goby breeding, so Hoanh is determined to do it. Currently, the price of goby breeding is 1,000 VND/fish, while the production cost is lower than that of shrimp and crab. Thus, if successful, it will increase the family's profit even higher, creating more jobs for local workers.
