Recently, Regulation No. 08 of the Central Committee on the responsibility of setting an example for cadres and party members, first of all members of the Politburo, members of the Secretariat, and members of the Central Executive Committee, signed and issued by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong on behalf of the 12th Party Central Executive Committee on October 25, 2018, has received wide support from cadres, party members, and the masses.

Most people in Ho Chi Minh City believe that this is a timely and correct policy, suitable for practical requirements at present.

For Mr. Dang Van Nghe, residing on Truong Chinh Street, Ward 12, Tan Binh District, Ho Chi Minh City, this is a right policy, demonstrated throughout the process of implementing the study and following of Ho Chi Minh's moral example. In particular, recent directives and resolutions of the Party have clearly pointed out the exemplary role of the leader, making Party members and the masses very excited, hoping that our Party will continue to implement this content in a very specific way, with the supervision of all classes of people.

Mr. Dang Van Nghe believes that when leaders truly set an example, trust in the Party will be increasingly enhanced and the country's industrialization and modernization process will develop in the right direction and achieve efficiency.

"I see that the policy and recent Resolution of the Central Committee on exemplary behavior are very clear, especially for leaders such as Politburo members, Standing members of the Secretariat, Central Committee members, that regulation is very correct. Because the spread and influence of the leader is very important, all Resolutions and words are orientations, but through specific actions and behaviors, setting an example, transparency in asset declaration, work efficiency and relationships, if the leader is higher and sets an example, is more transparent, the spread will be wider, the people's trust in the Party will increase," Mr. Nghe shared.

“Party members go first, the country follows” - each leading party member in particular and party members in general must first of all speak and act according to the Party's Resolution, Party regulations, carry out what party members are allowed to do and what they are not allowed to do, they must absolutely comply, and must set a good example. That is the opinion of Mr. Vo Hoang Thu, 38 years of Party membership, Deputy Representative of the Association of the Elderly in Binh Chanh District, Ho Chi Minh City, when expressing his wish for exemplary behavior from leaders, especially high-ranking leaders who have a positive influence in society.

Setting an example is a very broad issue, but people often care about fighting corruption, fighting bureaucracy and orders, fighting distance from the masses. Therefore, party members must first of all be attached to the people, listen, be close to the masses. For the Central Committee, the higher the responsibility, the greater the example, and the more they must take the lead, match words with actions, do more and say less, then the people will respect them, to contribute to building a strong Party, building mass movements of people's solidarity.

Recently, there have been corruption cases that people are very concerned about, involving high-ranking officials in the Party. Serious violations of the law, although handled, have more or less greatly affected the Party's reputation and reduced people's trust. Therefore, the Central Committee's issuance of Regulation 08 for high-ranking officials aims to further specify relevant regulations on the responsibilities of civil servants, party members, and leaders, contributing to minimizing and handling violations by Central officials.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Huong, residing on Tan Hoa Dong Street, Ward 14, District 6, Ho Chi Minh City, said that the role of leaders in setting an example must be strengthened and implemented better. Setting an example here is not only about morality but also about a sense of responsibility, saying what to do, not making empty promises to the people. Doing what to say will create trust, not only achieving effectiveness in implementing the policies of the Party and State but also making the people trust the officials. If Party members do a good job of setting an example, the policies and resolutions of the Party will be put into practice in life.

It can be said that since the 12th Party Congress, our Party has made many innovations in Party building and rectification, especially in setting examples, fighting corruption, and promoting the role of leaders. This is a real innovation in the Party's leadership style, aiming to build a team of leaders who are both red and professional as President Ho Chi Minh taught.

The ancients said, “If the top is not upright, the bottom will be in chaos.” This is an inevitable consequence of social behavior. The people’s trust in the Party comes not only from books, not only from words, but also from the example of leaders and managers, especially the head./.
