The Khmu people in Huoi Tho

(Baonghean) Located halfway up the Pu Nha Thau range, Huoi Tho village, Huu Kiem commune (Ky Son) is home to the Kho Mu ethnic group. For generations, the Kho Mu people in Huoi Tho have always been conscious of preserving the cultural identity passed down by their grandparents and ancestors. Coming to Huoi Tho, visitors from afar will enjoy the Tom and Re Re melodies; the melodious, gentle and bustling melodies of traditional musical instruments (Pi Tom, Dao Dao, Khen La, Gongs); be captivated by the Lam Toi melodies, the New House Celebration melodies and be carried away by the fragrant jar of Can wine...

Huoi Tho village was chosen by the Department of Culture of Ky Son district to build a pure Kho Mu ethnic cultural village, as a place to preserve and promote cultural identity to serve the community tourism development project. On that basis, the village received support from the province to build a traditional house with a fairly large and spacious scale (worth 1.5 billion VND), which is a place to organize community activities and preserve all kinds of utensils, agricultural tools, musical instruments and traditional costumes of the ethnic group.
