Russians catch Pushkin and Gagarin instead of Pokémon

The Moscow Department of Information Technologies has developed the mobile application "Discover Moscow. Photo".

The application will work on the principle of Pokémon Go, allowing to catch and take selfies with famous historical figures, the Information Technology Department in Moscow said.

Within the framework of the application, it is possible to "catch" Napoleon Bonaparte, Victor Tsoi, Alexandr Pushkin, Yuri Gagarin, Pyotr Tchaikovsky, Mikhail Lomonosov, Ivan Groznyi, Tsar Peter I and Tsar Alexei Mikhailovich.

Officials hope that, after playing in the applications, Muscovites will be more interested in the basic mobile service "Get to Know Moscow". The project is based on the materials of the tourist guide portal Um.mos.ru, as well as research by historians and experts specializing in Moscow.
